Recently, my friends speaker in his 436 blew. He constantly had it set too loud at fire scenes. Being here in Toronto, Canada I reached out to Uniden for a replacement. They no longer have parts and apparently don't support this model anymore. So, I searched. There was 1 place in the states that had the part but they won't ship outside of the "continental states". So, I found some originals in England. Pricey though! But... I had a thought... I had a dead Baofeng UV-5R that was dissembled for parts. What are the odds...? Turns out that it has the same size 2" (32mm) speaker and the impedance is only off by 8ohms. Original is 24ohms/.5watt, the Baofeng is 16ohms/1watt. So, this could be an alternative fix? One must be handy though, to remove the part from the dead speaker in the 436 and steal the connection part with the "tangs" that connect it to the circuit board and mount it on the Boafeng speaker. Or, one could simply use some extremely small gauge wire and simply solder them to the pcb of the 436. So, if you can't find an original replacement, this is a good "work around". Wish you all well. Oh... on the subject of low audio output (limited by Uniden) from the headphone jack... I'm told that connecting a tiny wire from the antenna ground to the output ground of that jack, will bypass the 24ohm resistor (installed to protect our hearing), thus giving much more output. Keep in mind that a "Stereo" plug MUST be used when connecting external devices to the 436 Output jack, otherwise you're shorting out 1/2 of it's output and pressing the audio-amps output circuits.
