I know. That is why I have to do it from the web, when the LCNs' are not included w/ the frequencies.
Mmm.. think of your frequencies as.. having your ducks in a row😉.. continue to search Google regarding LCN finder on the SDS series.

AFAIK Uniden Japan did announce last year that the 3600XLT (European model of the 436HP) was regarded “end of life”. Normally this means that they do not develop new FW-updates for this model (unless absolutely necessary for safety reasons).

Perhaps the same announcement is valid for the 436HP?

¿Quizás el mismo anuncio sea válido para el 436HP?
AThey still have sales stock at exorbitant prices, which made sense when it first came out of the factory, then it had serious screen problems, others also said with the battery. Programming is complicated, it is a good scanner but the firmware needed to be fine-tuned, menus, etc. in my opinion for almost 500 dollars

Los que los hemos tenido desde el día 1 de su lanzamiento decimos diferente.
contrary? Isn't 500 dollars expensive? Or did the 436 never have serious screen and battery problems? .. I'm not saying that it is a bad scanner, on the contrary, but for its price worthy of a Yaeshu, Kenwood, etc. it should have something more .. but just an opinion. thank you all 73

Those of us that have had them from day 1 of their release say different
This scanner actually went through some stages with identifiable flaws that were addressed by Uniden without much discussion on radio reference, they realized the problem and they fixed it. Not every radio was affected as with, the SDS 100 and csj.

The Uniden representative was a daily contributor to radio reference and took his share of abuse and kept on top of each tweaking that needed to be done with hardware and firmware. May he rest in peace as he passed in late December of 2019.

Of course there was never any details or serial numbers attached to various units with issues. It was not every unit.

The dark screen issues and clock issues with the x36 series was eventually dealt with with a repair campaign, you signed up and your radio was repaired for free, regardless of how long you had it.. something Uniden should have done with the csj and the rotary knob issue on the sds100.

They obviously didn't agree. Why should they, they are the only game in town.

I have no doubt that the 436, as it approaches end of life status, that's sold today, has all issues of the past resolved other than inability to handle certain simulcast systems. That's not the radio's fault😉

That’s a lot of “hear say”. Which of those are your own experience, or is it just howling along to the moon with the other wolves? Programming of a 436HP has a learning curve, just like most things in life. If it was too complicated for the average Joe or Jolene, Uniden wouldn’t have used the same method of programming for their SDS-series.

Did you ever bought an Android smartphone? most of them are way over $500,= Already after 2 or 3 years they are regarded End Of Life and barely get updates or support from the manufacturers.

Nor it is mine however I’ve learned to read, speak and write in English. It helps a lot if you want to have a conversation on English speaking forums abroad.

Over time, electronics depreciate, a house cannot be bought... the first iPhone cost 900 dollars in Europe, today 100 or as a gift... scanner 436, I bought it for around +-500 and today it is still the same value, the same hardware, the same old pcb and processor . Does my car from 5 years ago cost the same now? no obviously it counts less now even new

You are fighting a uphill battle here.
My 1st ANALOG Cellphone $500 my last Samsung Cellphone $900.
My 1st used car 1977 was 7 years old $2,100
My 1st New Car 1988 Mustang GT $11,000 today 2024 Mustang Gt $47,000
Your bucket has a big hole in it.
you have a battle alone I only think I don't know English but I do know Spanish, French, Latin, some Aramaic... the battle: "Combat or series of combats of one army with another, or of a naval fleet with another... ..... mine is opinion. Good night.

So I graduated college in 1975 and got my first professional job at $17,000 a year. I purchased an Electra Bearcat 101, the first true programmable scanner, it cost $399.99 at Lafayette Electronics. Radio Shacks offering of a similar radio made by GRE was also $399.99 and I would have paid more for either radio, it was exciting Space Age Technology.

I consider the government's inflation numbers to be total BS so using a conversion chart doesn't mean much but I'm going to guess compared to today's value of money, in 1975 $399.99 for scanner was probably like paying over $1,200 today, again I would have paid more.

Kind of makes the 436 a bargain.
