I just got the scanner yesterday. I have HP1 and have just started to learn how things work for on this new scanner. I have a few questions below.

1. Is there any way when it's stops on a channel to display what tower it is broadcasting from?

2.I have turned on the WX in the right hand corner you see it and was wondering how to turn it off?

3.Is there any way to go through and look on a tower and the control channel to see the signal strength and tower ID? You can do this with the HP1.

4. How do set it to record and than play back for future listing. You again can do this on the HP1

Thanks for all the help

#2: hold on any channel. Press FUNC + 6... this will toggle WX on and off

#4: While scanning, press Func + Replay, and then press E (Yes) to start recording. Press Func + Replay again to stop recording.

#1. No, unfortunately the scanner does not do this. When it is scanning, you'll see which towers are being "looked" at. But when there is an active transmission, then the scanner shows the group name, rather than the active tower.

A suggestion has been made to Uniden to Uniden asking if this can be changed so the active tower name and group name will alternate. However Uniden hasn't commented on this.

#3. Another "no".

You could get ARC 536 PRO. It has a virtual control feature, including logging. This logging feature will show the information you desire.

Thanks so much for the information. I thought maybe analyze in the menu section maybe where you could look at the tower control channels would help but its function is not available it says.

Just curious, how do you get your scanner not to default back to scanner the full pre-programmed list? I have all my favorites set up and they scan but my 536 also scans the pre-programmed list for this area which takes forever. Is there a way to lock out all the pre-programmed HP stuff and just scan my favorites? Thanks

Turn off Full Database scanning:

On the Radio:
Menu / Set Scan Selection / Select Lists to Monitor / Full Database :Off

In Sentinel:
Edit Profile / uncheck Monitor Full Database / Update scanner

Even if you turn off Full Database via the keypad, you should consider editing your profile and unchecking the box as noted above.

Otherwise, the next you you do an update to your scanner from Sentinel, the Full Database will come back on. That's because Sentinel may over-ride what is programmed in your scanner.

I suspect analyze was on the back burner while Uniden was trying to get the Siren App and wifi dongle issue worked out.

Thanks got it. I was hoping the analyze feature would be activated but now it is missing out of the menu. It was once promised by Uniden but now it's gone all together

from the 12/18 2014 Siren update posted by Upman

" Firmware-wise, our next focus will be to complete the analysis functionality for both the BCD436HP and BCD536HP. Some work has been done on this, but it will take much more to have a release. We expect to release this in the March time frame. As with the app, we might have something to try, sooner "

Maybe in the next firmware release the analyze feature will be available. With the the new firmware release it isn't in the menu anymore....

In my SO: bank I have a system programmed in 1, 2, and 3. How do you turn off a bank? How do I monitor just the system in bank 3 and turn 1 and 2 off? Thanks
