I'm sure this is a simple issue to resolve but I am SOOOO frustrated. I want to scan only the TGs that I have programmed into the system. No matter what I do, I seem to get any traffic on the system. I am trying to scan a few VHF conventional frequencies and a couple of dozen MPSCS sites and talkgroups. Please help!!!

Do you have the systems set to ID SCAN or ID SEARCH? Scan only uses programmed talk groups, SEARCH hears whatever is active.

You apparently are in search mode, which will receive any active talkgroup, regardless of whether you have programmed.

By switching to scan mode, it will just receive those you programmed.

If you mean you are hearing too much, try pressing FUNCTION (large knob), then SCAN/SEARCH button. That will put the scanner into Talkgroup Scan mode rather than Talkgroup Search mode.

No good. Using ID SCAN. Should lockout be on or off?
If you are using ID Scan, the radio DOES NOT listen to any talkgroups other than what you program.

Don’t know what lockout you are referring to.

Do you happen to have a "wildcard" TG in the list

If you have a wildcard (Talkgroup = 0) that might be your problem!

That's something that can be done on a GRE/Whistler OOS scanner, not a Uniden. For Uniden, it's either ID Scan (only programmed talkgroups) or ID Search (any active talkgroup that is not locked out or in a group that is locked out).

Thank you

Hi Guys -

THANK YOU for all the helpful insight. Initially the problem was ID Search vs ID Scan, however even after I corrected that I still had inadvertently locked out a bunch of the talkgroups. When I corrected that, it started working great. Thanks to you guys my new RR audio feed is up and running. Thanks again
