Not using that portable you won't. You asked 'in general' how people find the signal. I use an SDR stick and SDR# to locate them or confirm them.

I found the confusion. I was referring to the signal strength. as in how well can you hear it around the city. That was my mistake.

I just mean in general how do people find the signal?

I appreciate the advice. How do you find the coverage of the system in the GTA? I would hope it would be a strong signal.

I have one. I find it is kinda deaf when I leave it on a specific talkgroup and it works better in my setup that scans all the talkgroups in each segment.

When I took it up north to the Bruce Pen it outworked both of my scanners thou, But I expected that.

I have it programmed to cover pretty much all of Zone 1. "A" has all the towers for London OPP dispatch.
"B" has all the talkgroups that are dispatched by Orillia and "C" has the TAC tg's.
