How can I find out when Benton County Sherriff is going Digital? Without asking them? I don't won't them to think I'm a criminal or something..lol
Not from the area, but,
1) Do you mean Moswin or is the current VHF frequency going digital?
2) Might check public records for the local sheriff, or the entity in charge of communications.
3) Check FCC licenses for the county. Might see a new emissions designator or a different frequency.
4) If moving to Moswin, set your scanner into ID Search (wildcard for Whistler scanners). You will have to use your ears to identify your local sheriff. Maybe on a new talkgroup.

Change the Squelch Mode to P25 and enter the 3 digit NAC Squelch Code (using ARC500). Are you using programming software?

I believe Benton county would most likely move to MoSWIN of moving to digital. Al’s not everyone in Troop A has been going that route. In fact, I beleive Henry County will be going to MoSWIN soon as well form what I’ve been told.

I do t beleive there would be any new
MoSWIN sites going on for the bench on county area. Between Cole camp, Warsaw, Windsor, deepwater, and Wheatland they should have ample coverage. And likely even the Sedalia site.

They could also be upgrading their current system. It is quite old to my knowledge.

In this area the licenses aren’t a good idea of what a county may do. There are numberous agencies that are on NXDN but you’d never know by looking at the license because it shows analog/P25.

You may just listen to the BCSO frequency with your scanner in open squelch so if they watch their own system to digital you hear it. Ajd if at some point you stop hearing anything all together then start with an ID search on MoSWIN.
Yes.. The up grade looks like behind the 9-11 center with new antennas and tower...I have my scanner 106 set on a 'T' control channel and have full bars showing up with nothing yet..waiting

The first frequency you listed I recognize as the warasaw site. I’m not amair wotu tue second frequency you listed. I know on the couple occasions I’ve been up that way the Warsaw site has been pretty quiet. Likely not many affiliations. I use to catch most traffic on the Cole camp site.
