No bother at all. I’m headed to help. You’re welcome to send me a direct message on here if you find anything else or have questions. I checked with one of the techs and right now the state DPS says there’s no request to join MoSWIN or talk to join MoSWIN from Benton county.

Update to Benton county. I have learned that they are intact not joining MoSWIN. They are also not creating a P25 system of their own. Benton county will be going to MXDN NEXEDGE. They hope to be moved over by end of month.

I don’t think the scanner you have will receive it. It’s just another digital protocol. One that your neighbors to the south in Hickory ajd Polk already use.

Why do you think they would go to this system? it is so different from everybody else?

It’s all about the personable selling it. Plus, if they’ve already been using a certain brand …they’ll stick with it. Plus, it all comes down to cost. NXDN is one of the lesser expensive digital formats.

I don’t see anything that would indicate them changing frequencies. They’ll likely stay where they are. Most agencies that move to digital from their analog systems keep the same frequency

To my knowledge the only scanners that will do NXDN are the Uniden BCF 325P2, BCD9@6P2, BCDX36HP series, and the SDS series. All of these require a $50 product key for purchase once you receive the scanner. If you went this route I recommend purchasing the scanner and programming it your self. Don’t let a vendor rip you off by letting them program.

Also I think the Whistler TRX 1 & 2 will do NXDN as well.

Well if your Tech friend or you has any information on this topic later on I would appreciate the help trying to get information needed to program a unit . right now there is nothing out there to program according to Uniden they go by RadioReference to do so. I contacted them today. They do have a unit like you said. and for a fee of $75 they can put the "key" in but they see nothing now. Thank you!

If you were to purchase a key direct from Uniden, the cost would be $50, not $75. If, instead, you purchase from one of the online dealers, all they are going to do is purchase the key for you If you pay for that when purchasing a new scanner, they'll enter the key for you before shipping the unit.. But if it's for a scanner you already own, they'll simply email you the key to enter into your own scanner. Bottom line, save the $25 'convenience fee'.

I have NXDN enabled on my 325P2, the 436HP & 536HP, as well as my SDS100 & SDS200.
