If you were to get tue X36 or SDS line of scanners you can buy software ajd make your own programming. Also, there’s no way for us to get the programming before they change. I get programming when or shortly after they change by finding it on my own. 9 times out of 10 I forward my finding to the MSHP techs for them to update their county radios.

As for the upgrade fee….you’d be better buying tue scanner ajd taking care of the purchase and entering the key once you get the unit. Vendors ajd Uniden usually charge well over the cost of the key to do this work for you. Same other programming. Most places charge per county to program the scanner. If you do purchase the X36 or SDS units let me know ona direct message ajd once you receive the unit I would be more than happy to walk you through everything.

If you were to purchase a key direct from Uniden, the cost would be $50, not $75. If, instead, you purchase from one of the online dealers, all they are going to do is purchase the key for you If you pay for that when purchasing a new scanner, they'll enter the key for you before shipping the unit.. But if it's for a scanner you already own, they'll simply email you the key to enter into your own scanner. Bottom line, save the $25 'convenience fee'.

I have NXDN enabled on my 325P2, the 436HP & 536HP, as well as my SDS100 & SDS200.

I have not got one yet... not sure what one to get yet .... thanks for the information All I have now is a PRO 106 Useless now

A slight rephrase in my last response. If you get any of the above mentioned Uniden scanners you are welcome to directly message for assistance with them. I help with progan for several indivuals including law enforcement.

So you won't get talk groups until then?..I'm hearing what sounds like they are transmitting both digital and analog at times so they might be on line now...

The fire dept was told they will be transmitting both.. I'm going to get the Uniden when you get the talk groups ...and key

Generally when it comes to conventional NXDN there isn’t talk groups involving. Some will use talk groups but majority do not.

Not all digital requires a talk group. I believe P25 conventional can also run with no talk groups. Most scanners will actually show as talk group 0. DMR is the only digital format to my knowsge that requires a talk group.

Right now Polk ajd hickory run NXDN NEXEDGE. Both of those agencies don’t use talk groups. They just use a RAN which is the NXDN equivalent to a CTCSS/DCS code.

Yes. It is set up as a conventional channel with the audio type as digital and the code is NEXEDGE RAN then the proper code is selected.

ok yes..So how do I get these code's wait till they are listed like the other poster mentioned ...Uniden told me they could not sell me a scanner with the key until it was listed and they did not see anything yet on RadioRef....
