I just tried updating my TRX-1 EZ Scan software and my Bitdefender software blocked it with the following message:

The file C:\Program Files (x86)\Whistler\TRX-1\TRX-1.exe is infected with Trojan.GenericKD.42258191 and was moved to quarantine. It is recommended that you run a System Scan to make sure your system is clean.

This occurred when updating from within my existing version and then also when downloading from the Whistler website. Has anyone else encountered this situation or know what is going on?

I did not get any warning message when upgrading the EZ-Scan for my TRX-1. I use Norton Internet Security. However, Norton has, more than once, decied to attack ProScan and move it to quarantine, even though I have it in the exclusion list.

No problems here using the Win10 native Windows Defender.

I get this with many cps installs. It has always been a false positive, but checking before you proceed is a good idea. I had it about 5 minutes ago with the MD 380 cps, which I have installed several versions on different computers before with no problem.

If you downloaded from Whistler Web Site you may/can assume that update is clean. One of the options is to add exception to Whistler directory.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Whistler\TRX-1\TRX-1.exe in Antivirus. Other option is to disable Antivirus, install update and enable antivirus back.
Another is to download clean file first, scan with Antivirus for nasty stuff before executing update.
Still i would run Antyvirus and Malwarebytes after installation. Some risk, YES of course.

Get rid of Bitdefender, it corrupted 3 of my pcs in the past. You can verify any questionable file by dropping it into Virustotal.com for multi system analysis.

I have bitdefender and I had to go into protection option and turn off safe files before I could ever get Sentinel to stop blocking everything I tried to do with the software haven't had a problem since. :)
