I also have a future Suggestion & or Recommendation for the Blue Tail Technologies on the P25RX-II?

I would like to see & have an option before Purchasing to be able to choose the P25RX-II with either the current built-in (SMA Female) Connector or a newer suggested Connector being a (BNC Female) Connector like Uniden Scanner Receivers have for the Signal Antenna. I however do know, that we can purchase a SMA Male to BNC Female Adapter for now to make this type of popular BNC Connection available on the P25RX-II. It would however, be nice & convenient to be able to choose a built-in Antenna Connector out of the 2 on the P25RX-II before placing an Order which would then, eliminate having to purchase a Adapter. Anyway, it's just a suggestion that I thought that I would share & pass along here.

Thanks for the suggestion. It might be possible to fit a BNC connector in the enclosure. Looks like it would be really close. This would be a new product. It would require board changes and new end-panels. I'll keep it in mind for the future.

I agree that the connector you suggest might be better for future models. But right now, I think it's important for BTT to concentrate on adding those new reception modes he has been working on. We're all patiently waiting for NBFM and a more reliable DMR mode. So far, it's the best P25 receiver I have.

I'm getting closer. I'm going to post a video soon, but I need to make some more progress first. Here are 3 images to show things headed in the right direction. The NBFM and AM modes work great. As you can see from the images, you can adjust the squelch, frequency, and channel step (adjustable) with the mouse scroll wheel (or buttons / slider). The signal search is mostly working now, but needs some finishing touches. Still need a way to transfer all the channel configuration to/from the flash memory. I've been putting this off until last. Once I get that working, I will release an experimental right away. There have been lots of improvements and fixes along the way in order to get scanning / searching working smoothly. More soon.

Todd,
I am looking forward to some new functionality. I can only imagine how much time you put into the new code. I am happy to contribute on occasion if you commit to never nickel and diming us or going subscription based. You might consider a support BTT tip jar on your website.

Thank you @EMwaves54! I have no intentions of any kind of subscription-based software, etc. I thank you all for the generosity here! RR users and the RR admin allowing BTT here have enabled this project to continue for close to 2 years now. I'm very appreciative! The best way to support BTT is to subscribe to RR and to continue interacting here on the forum. The HW sales are up and down over time, but do seem to be directly related to the forum activity and feedback. There have been multiple times where I was starting to think that it was going to be over, but then a batch of orders would come in. Thank you all for helping to make this happen.

Todd,
any intentions to grow p25x series to higher hardware and software specs and GUI?
Vince,
I know you asked about adding an Ethernet interface in the past. I don't know how much interest there would be in a higher-end device (higher cost). I would certainly be interested in adding to the product line in the future. With the current state of supply chains, new hardware development would be extremely difficult. I've already maxed my credit for developing the P25RX-II and acquiring an inventory of parts with the intent of making it through this period where many parts are unavailable. At present, I'm concentrating on paying the monthly bills. At first (2021), industry key-figures said things would be better starting in 2022. Then it was 2023, and the latest I read was 2024. Nobody knows, but it seems to me that things are definitely heading in the wrong direction for getting back to where we were 3 years ago. The short answer is that I will do my best to keep the improvements coming.

@btt hypothetical question related to network connecting the p25rx rigs for remote control.

@goldmyne99 has posted his WIFI success in displaying the p25rx info with the WIO Terminal serving a webpage.

Question: Could the Wio Terminal be used to send the p25rx usb binary data and audio over WIFI to your BTCONFIG software for remote control over WIFI?

In simple terms, the idea is to use the Wio Terminal as a wireless TCP/IP connection to BTCONFIG software.

I haven't looked at that yet, so I'll let @goldmyne99 answer that, but I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be yes. Pretty exciting stuff. Once I get the recent software changes somewhat settled, I will document the new binary data stream. I will also certainly be interested in helping with development on something like that. I plan on playing with the Wio terminal more in the near future.
