I have heard a few transmissions on SW MA 5 this morning too.
I heard units checking in on SW MA 5 this morning between 7:00 and 7:15am. I was listening to the Hendricks County tower.

SW MA 3 is also being used. I just heard traffic for IRG, ECA, and registration.
It appears that they are at a hospital, and their beds for the night are on the second floor.

Last traffic I heard, over for the night, but it all begins in the morning at 07:30
I guess I'll have to move the scanner so i can pick up the North Vernon tower.

Or you could put Warrens system in the scanner and hear it from those on the scene, they have an active system, and yesterday the Admin and PD TG's were especially busy even before this incident, they were going all afternoon, makes me wonder if a teacher didn't get the boot for something though.

Expect more of the worst since Daniels got re-elected, things will get worse as long as he's in office and keeps turning a blind eye towards the states problems while his buddies keep getting richer.

Fatal Residence Fire

Was reported this afternoon near Westfield in the 15700 block of Gray Rd. Apparently, the fire started near a wood stove. One fatality. Mutual Aid from Carmel and Noblesville. There was a 911 call from the residence when the fire broke out.

The fatality was apparently a firefighter who lived there. Hmm, firefighter, woodstove and house so full of newspapers there was only a small path to each room, you'd think a firefighter would be smarter than that....

I missed the part about the resident being a firefighter. I first became aware of the call when I heard a deputy say he had a working fire, then after that everything went crazy. Engine 76 from Noblesville was on the scene about 10 seconds after the fire dispatch. It's like they found out about the fire before the dispatch came over the air. Station 76 is close enough that they could have seen the smoke and just headed that way.

On the news they said that the fire was discovered by an off duty fireman driving by the house. They also said the victim was an 82 year old retired Eli Lilly chemist.

Hmmm, guess it depends on which news you saw then. Either way, firefighter or chemist, they both should know a wood stove and piles of old newspapers don't play well together....

The news report I saw said it was caused by a faulty flue pipe. No mention of old newspapers. It seems like news reporters just make up about half of what they report, so you never know what to believe.

There was an extreme of debris in the house as described by the firefighters in the house. He didn't mention newspapers, but he did say it was very hard to navigate through the house. This was also confirmed by the Westfield fire chief who was interviewed by CH. 13 News and did bring up the newspapers. Ideal conditions to spread a fire at any rate.
