There was an extreme of debris in the house as described by the firefighters in the house. He didn't mention newspapers, but he did say it was very hard to navigate through the house. This was also confirmed by the Westfield fire chief who was interviewed by CH. 13 News and did bring up the newspapers. Ideal conditions to spread a fire at any rate.

Yeah, if true, it was a fatal fire waiting to happen. I wonder if the guy was mentally ill. People who hoard old newspapers usually are. Pretty sad.

Speculation on my part, but at that age it is very possible he had dementia/Alzheimers. Anything is possible in that case.

Shooting near Greenwood, Whiteland

Has anyone heard anything about a shooting near greenwood/whiteland? I went to go to the BP earlier and the lot was so full I couldnt get in. When I went back 15 minutes later all the cars were gone, and the attendant said there were over 100 people there that "obviously weren't from around here" to put it nicely, and they were all stealing stuff. So he turned off the automatic door, and called the police. They then broke the door, and shortly after he saw one of them lean into a truck (someone he says obviously was not part of the group) and shot the driver 2 or 3 times. The crowd then dispersed quickly, and he heard the cars that were blocked by police cars ended up being pushed out of the way by the fleeing crowd. The red pickup had lots of medical people around it when I was there, it appears the driver tried to get out of the lot and was sideways on 31. There are cops from all different units flying around, and I dont yet have digital, so if anyone has heard anything please share!
Thanks!

Dispatcher Called in FD for Oaktownship and Vincennes to a car fire that one of her son's was stuck inside of the car. the lady is freaking out......

I'm listening to this too. OMG, scarry!

10-50 PI with 3 minors.
two are stuck in the car, the car is on fire.

It sounded like the dispatcher started crying, or was at least holding in the tears (can't blame her).

Starting a ground search to find additional patients that may be involved in this wreck.

The police contacted one father who they thought his son was involved in the accident, ended up that guys son was at home, and not involved.
One patients was found in the field upon arrival, one other person was still in the car. Another person (kid I assumed) had broken bones, missing teeth, and couldn't get his friends out of the car. There is so much traffic, it is hard to follow with only one scanner.

Helicopter from Terre Haute is not available. One from Evansville is en route to the hospital.

I still don't believe they know the people's names who are involved.

Medic 10 came through town with just lights on.
Medic 5 came through town with lights + sirens.
Helicopter is landing just as medic 5 is arriving at the hospital. Patient is being transported from ambulance to the helicopter.
Vincennes Police just pulled over a guy for passing the ambulance running code 3 (lights + siren) through town.
It appears the guy who passed the ambulance has an out of country licenses, and this isn't the first time being pulled over.

And it does appear that there was only two injured in the accident.
