Hearing a grinding noise on 142.935 when the propogation is good, very likely Brockville.
Sounds a whole lot like TRBO, the RR DB says DES, if it's in fact TRBO the DB
is out of date.

I'm here a lot
Thanks for the "heads up" Dave. I will remove the DES and encrypted descriptions along with the PL tone.

With confirmation that it is TRBO, we can change that as well, until then, I'll leave it as FM.

if you can confirm TRBO perhaps the slot number and color code can be listed.

Dave, are you sure, that its TRBO?
Because i was in the vicinity of Brockville, actually prescott,
and they are still running 142.935 analog.

142.935 from another tower?
Which way was it propogating from?

Historically Brockville has run a mixed mode system with encryption/digital and Analog radio on this frequency. Chances are if they have switched to MotoTrbo, that they may be still running mixed mode.

Bottom line, I don't know which direction it's from, if not from Brockville.
However it's fairly weak but consistant and hearing no analog, so it might
be something else. Question is, who else could it be; closest I know of
on that freq. is Fleetnet Cobourg site which would be a digital/analog mix.

Closest user of 142-143MHz in Quebec could be Hydro-Que. but they
are P25.

Maybe someone in or near to Brockville could help anaswer this.

Guess I should have checked TAFL first, but for some reason thought it wouldn't
show up there. Looks like it's the city of Brownsburg Que. not far from Lachute.
TAFL shows 7.6kHz BW and emission type F7WDT which is TRBO.

I guess it's not Brockville after all..
