Hello, I have a Uniden BCD996XT and I am currently trying to program in some analog and trunked systems. I have been able to connect and write and read from the scanner. I have paid for the RR premium, but I am unable to get any programming software to connect to Radio Reference. I have tried both versions of freescan (2.18-beat6 and 2.19) and ProScan. I have tried using a vpn, phone hotspot, running the software as administrator, using three different computers, using my RR username (not email), and have run out of things to check. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Radio Reference forums!

When you enter your RR user name and password in the software to download from RR, are you getting any error messages? What do they say?

Here is a photo of the error message. I've read a few threads on this issue relating to a firewall or administrator issue but considering I've tried this on multiple networks and devices I'm not sure where to go. Thanks for your quick response.

Is it a similar message you get when trying to connect to the RR database with ProScan?

Yes it is. I get the error message "Invalid User Name or Password". I've triple checked my login information and even changed the password.
Can you log out of RR and log back in again using the exact same user name and password that you're entering into the RR import in the software?

Yes, I am able to freely log in and out of RR on the webpage and forum. Using the same login and password on freescan still gives me the error message. I've also just tried ARC-XT and it also gives an invalid user login error.

Just went through and changed the password to only contain letters. I still got the error message on freescan and pro scan. I don't think numbers in the username should effect this but I can't change that without an admin anyway.

I doubt it's numbers as I've seen numerous members with numbers in their username using ProScan to program via RR.

I use numbers in my RR password - no issue there.

Try temporarily turning off any firewalls and anti-virus software. To help narrow things down. If your cell phone has a hot-spot capability, turn it on and connect one of your computers to that rather than your home wi-fi and see if you can log into the software's RR import then.

Tried another desktop on a different network, still no luck. Disabled windows defender (windows 11), hot spot and vpn still lead to the same error. I don't know if there's a period I have to wait after purchasing premium before I am able to use the database through local software.

When you utilize your phone's hotspot you're connected to your cell carrier's network and not the same wifi your computer utilizes, correct? Out of curiosity who is your home internet ISP?

Unfortunately I don't have wifi at home straight talk is my Hotspot and had been good up until probably 2 mos ago when I noticed that it connected had internet but wouldn't go anywhere so said they are a textbook outfit and don't know anything else spent 30 minutes while he ran me around the block and resolved nothing.
Otherwise, yes it would be the same I have been thinking of getting home wifi but that's another bill I really can't afford right now.
