I love my CCrane Skywave SSB, but the constant muting between frequency steps spoils the experience of tuning through bands, looking for SSB stations.

Has anyone done an anti-chuffing modification on the CCrane Skywave SSB? If so, what's the magic recipe?

The radio is DSP, which means the function is probably controlled by the microprocessor. There may be a mute trace on the PCB (there is it apparently a mute trace on at least one DSP radio I've got, for which I've got the schematic (my Sangean PR-D5, where getting rid of the muting would involve cutting a trace on teh PCB -- not pulling a pin from a ribbon cable like modifications required with the old analog PLL radios). The problem is that it might take a bit of searching to find it. And then, because everything is surface mount, it could be problematic in trying to 'fix' the muting.

Roger that. Thanks for your insight.
