Cedar Grove

Hey All, I have BCD436HP, can't seem to pick up Cedar Grove (FD PD or EMS) Have it scanning NJSP and Outside Agencies but I'm not getting anything. Updated everything through Sentinel. I've tried many different things but ,other than an old analogue this is my first go with a scanner, so I'm probably doing something obviously wrong. Thanks for any help or advice.

Make sure you have all the correct service types turned on.

The Cedar Grove FD is on the NJSP 800Mhz system. You should be using the North Simulcast to pick them up. So you have to have a site - in this case North Simulcast and then the talkgroups you wish to monitor.

Cedar Grove will be migrating over to the ASTRO 25 system at some point in the near future, operating in TDMA mode.

And apparently they have decided to renumber the talkgroups again...sorta. Instead of 5191-5203, it appears that they are going to use the already-established TGID's from the SmartZone system. In other words, 513-525 on the NJICS. 🤦‍♂️

So, CG made the switch to the NJSP 800 system, for about a month, and they have now moved over to the NJICS? Any more info on this?

They were on the SmartZone system for more than a month, and did so because the coverage wasn't so hot on the ASTRO 25 system. Now that the Passaic cell is up and running with both Garret Mtn and the new MSU subsite part of that cell, they've moved over to that system. Pretty straightforward.

I don't think they are on West Orange at all. I listened all evening yesterday and did not hear a peep out of them.

I have been listening to them last night and this morning on Passaic County Simulcast.

I see Little Falls is on West Orange and Passaic. I wonder If Cedar Grove will eventually do the same.
