Will the CFD most likely fully staff Tender 25 just to free up the Tower for the rest of the week?
Also when are Engines 340 and 341 supposed to come alone? Anyone see any trace of the new lease Tender?
I haven't had a chance to go up to fleet in a while.

Good info, I meant longer term. How many new tenders will CFD choose to aquire? Will they perhaps look at increasing the current number on order?
I can answer this. CFD has no plans to expand the Tender fleet and increase the number of Tenders on order. It's only 2 and it will stay that way because CFD can't afford a 3rd one. T0288 will be retired. The lease returned. T0400 gets sent to the spare pool. No idea what's in store for E4402.

I think I saw one of the triple digit Engines downtown last week .. 90% sure.

Sure, that was true last week. Given the events of this week, don't you think that answer could change next week?

So there are three new vehicles for active fleet. Their running assignment are "Pumpers" and they are cross-staffed with slower Engine halls. They are comprised of a CofC traffic truck, and pumping trailer. It's essentially a major water pump, with no tank. Set to do drafting operations. If a fire comes in, then the Driver/Captain take the Engine and the Senior/Hydrant take the Pumper. They are stationed at 42, 45 and 16. The photos are just downloading.

Well that's an interesting development I never saw coming 😂 I take it this is combat the water shortage in the city. Will these units remain after the water main break is resolved or will they disappear?

Looks like those pumps are rented, water works does have a few pumps on trailers though. Definitely a temporary measure

The water main fix has been delayed by another 2 weeks due to worker injuries (speedy recovery for them) so it looks like Tenders will be on the 1st alarm run card a little longer and Pumpers will be around a bit longer too.

Listening to Chief Dongworth in the update on firefighting efforts during the water crisis. He said that there are 4 Tenders in service. 21, 25 and the Sterling as 35. What’s the fourth tender?

I didn't even know a 4th was put into service. Nice to see one back in the NE finally. Last time a Tender was there when T0400 ran as Tender 22 in the early 2000's. I figured that if a 4th Tender was to be placed in service it would be a spare Engine or the lease Tender if it was here (CFD could really use it right now) Is Tender 32 cross staffed with Ladder 32, or are they putting FF's on overtime?

Depending on the Platoon on shift, it could be staffed with extra FF’s on shift or other FF’s could be brought in on overtime.
Someone edited the CFD wiki page last night. The new leased Tender a 2024 M2-06 Freightliner/Maxi Metal Tender is at 35 Station with the 2002 Fort Garry tendering going to 32. Whoever edited the page, thank you!

Absolutely gorgeous 😍 Thank you for posting Calgary_Fire_Filmer! Great to see it in service, especially with the water issues right now. I hope this truck will work out well for CFD, like most leased trucks CFD will probably end up keeping it

Well, that Tender is certainly something. Side mounted drop tanks, Whelen setup, 2400 gallon tank, more than what the current Tenders hold. I do believe this was intended for rural purposes. CFD originally leased this as a replacement for T0288 so it could finally be retired, but it looks like the water main break changed CFD's plans.
If you look closely it has black stripes instead of the traditional (White?) stripes on the sides of every CFD unit. It looks like it even has an enclosed side mount pump with cross lays meaning it can fight fires on it's own if it has to. Does anyone know if the tenders have been taken off cascading assignments due the water crisis?

I do hope T0124 will eventually find it's way into 21 to finally replace T0288. The whole water main break has really changed a lot of things for the CFD. New pumpers 16, 42 and 45. E4402 acting as a legitimate Tender. 4 Tenders now in service, 21, 25, 32, and 35.

I like the idea of having 4 Tenders. Units fighting brush fires in the NE won't have to wait too long for a Tender to arrive. Same deal in the SW now that the Ring Road is open so 35 can quickly head into the SW.

The month of June has certainly been an interesting month, so far. A new Volterra, a new Tender, 4 Tenders in service, new Pumpers and Pump trailers. I wonder what is going to happen next?

Hey lads, does anyone know the full turnout for the 2nd alarm condo fire at Prestwick last night?

From photos I've gathered it looks like (in no specific order at all) Engine 30, Engine 25, Engine 41, Engine 9, Ladder 30, and Tower 19 were all on scene.

I wanna say that HazMat 39 and Rescue 39 and Tender 25 were also there on the 1st alarm. Engine 25 and Tower 19 probably came in on the 2nd.

Also looks like an ADC showed up as well. I'm gonna listen to some archives later today to see what I can hear but C13 never seems to be working.
After some deeper digging, it appears that both Tower 19 and 25 were both on scene.

Engines 39 and 314 were also on scene. Even Tender 25 was on scene. Is the Tender staffed full-time now?

Often it seems in the archives, nothing can be heard on the South Dispatch channel C13 and associated Tac channels?

Last night seems to be the exception. The archives were pretty wild!! This fire had quite the head start and was blowing through attic before crews could get lines in place. It sounds like it got very intense for the Search/Evac and fire attack teams on the 3rd and 4th floors.

At one point one of the teams had no pressure in their hose line while on the 4th floor. Evac tones were sounded (*a warning to those with headphones on*) There were issues with civilians getting in the way of Engine 25 trying to hook up and relay pump into the scene - lots of foot traffic and cars in the way.

Engine, Tower and Tender 25 were in service - Tender 25,32,35 are extra staffed (whether from extra ff's now on the platoon, or extra ff's on overtime)

No formal run down in the archives but from what I hear: Engines: 30,39,41,43,25,9,314, Ladder 30, Towers 25,19, Rescue 39, Hazmat 39 DC 3,6
Missing A/L FRP and probably 2-3 Engines

Global News report said 3 million litres of water was used.

Okay lads. I reached out and got the full turnout of the Prestwick Villas Fire. This also included relief units and fire watch units as this was a major prolonged operation. Here we go, in no order at all:

Engine 39
Engine 9
Engine 16
Engine 14
Engine 314
Engine 25
Tender 25
Engine 26
Engine 30
Engine 37
Engine 41
Battalion Chief
Investigator 2
Rescue 12
Rescue 39
Air Light 4
FRP 7
High Rise 2
Engine 43
Investigator 3
HazMat 39
DC3
DC6
DC1
Tower 19
Ladder 30
Ladder 8
Tower 31
Tower 25.

There's the whole turnout, boys. Looks like all 3 towers did actually make it on scene on way or another.
