Engine 1's now a 2021 rig, E4621 is the ID. Its 2019 rig may move to 34.
23, 25, 1 and 19 Aerials are all 2004 rigs, they're showing there age and are probably costing a lot more to maintain and are still running on the front line. CFD wants to hold onto Aerials for 15-18 years - but will probably see the 04's in front line service until the new ones coming in probably around late 2022-2023. Unless CFD gets even more leased Aerials, but many departments are quickly snapping those up too.Aerial 1's main rig is back after almost three months of maintenance. A23 has been using the spare 2011 Spartan aerial for the past month. Could it be just another lengthy maintenance visit like A1 had or could it be their new permanent rig until a newer aerial comes around?
Also, not sure on the full turnout, but from CFDs side at the stabbing, they had Hazmat 17 and one of the HAZTEC vans from 16 on scene along with Engine 48. Is it because it was a mass casualty incident or was there a HAZMAT incident that also occurred in the same area?
Based off a video I saw today, it looks like 48 Engine is a spare right now. Might be a switch up at Station 1?Hey, anyone know why E27 has the Canada 150 livery now, what engine was moved or given a new rig?
All the "MRU" radio traffic I heard in the past few days was all training I'm pretty sure. CFD seems to have done a big radio channel shuffle, so there were comms that sounded like training but were on what used to be a TAC channel. As per the CFD Wiki, 4 new Aerials from Pierce seemingly are expected in 2023. On top of that, MRU's are back in service. One of them booked on air a few times this week! [MRU 1 specifically].
Whether this can be confirmed or not, would be nice to know!
Ah makes sense. Thanks for the info! All the "MRU" radio traffic I heard in the past few days was all training I'm pretty sure. CFD seems to have done a big radio channel shuffle, so there were comms that sounded like training but were on what used to be a TAC channel.
