I imagine CFD will buy out the Lease, they need the Aerial and it fits well into the new Aerial fleet that they are building

Wow, what a picture, looks like it probably is a lease according to my friend - but don't quote me on that.

Also I'm not sure if anyone can confirm this history, [but I'm pretty set on it being true since I heard it from a firefighter within CFD]
But apparently the reason Station 3's being built in Inglewood is because back in the 70s, that's where that Engine company was stationed, in Inglewood. No idea what happened with it, but I assume got torn down when more stations around it started building and new apparatus [at the time] came into play.

I’m going to look for more info on it. May be a lease??
Not a lease. YYC airport authority had a tender out for a new ARFF truck out around a year ago.

as far as station 3, the Hose and Hound pub is the old station 3. its beautiful. I don't know the reason for closing station 3, but I assume it had something to do with over coverage of the area or staffing cut backs

I heard something about that Striker just being a demo unit, something for them to test out to see if they actually want to buy one. To be allowed on ATC-controlled surfaces at YYC it needs to have a "company" decal and a number, hence the YYC Fire logo and 5. Also, the tender for new ARFF trucks closed on Jan 6th of this year. A contact of mine said this is a demo unit from the manufacturer and they are either trying it out, or have purchased or leased it.

Ahh, that makes sense. They've been out and about quite a bit lately.
The fact that it's still in "demo" livery with the YYC sticker on it makes me think it's a lease and they don't want to pay or aren't allowed to re-paint it or it is for "long-term" tryout (like a test drive kind of thing).

Apparently a Calgary Fire truck was hit while operating at an MVC this morning around Mcleod Trail and Stoney. I'm thinking it's either Engine 26 or 43? I can not find any news about it, has anyone heard anything?

That truck has been up for sale for months now. Was listed on the City of Calgary Surplus website for quite some time, looks like they had no luck so are trying to sell it elsewhere now?

Engine 44 is likely E3116, but I cannot confirm it, I have not seen the fleet number on the truck but there is a new style Smeal Engine in Station 44

I hope the firefighter of Engine 38 is doing well and is out of hospital soon! Looks like the semi hit the right side of Engine 38? Anyone know if its a write-off?

Maybe? When CFD received the 2 Pod trucks in 2015 they also came with 2 HAZMAT/DECON pods, at least one Tech Rescue and a flooding response pod. I have never seen them deployed though. This could be a new Tech Rescue pod.

The new pods are nice, with the new Pods does that imply the actual trucks themselves are also going to be upgraded/replaced? Or just the initial pods?

Also if a Tender needs a spare, it gets a Spare Engine as it's spare currently, right? I assume so, but you guys definitely know more than me, so maybe someone can confirm.

What I'm guessing based on some people I've talked to and some previous threads is that Technical Rescue 11 will move to a support role replacing Technical Rescue Support 10's current truck.
