I’m having a strange issue picking up the Chagrin Valley Dispatch on my HP536. I can receive CVDC on my HP-1 from my home ok but when I do a radio to radio with the same antenna and same tower sites (Lake-Cuyahoga) enabled I get nothing from the 536. The signal strength meter is showing 4 bars on both radios but still nothing from the 536.
I did notice that in Sentinel that in the HP-1 database it has the word simulcast after the Cuyahoga, Lake and Geauga towers sites. Does not say that in the 536 database. The frequencies are the same so I’m sure that has nothing to do with this problem. I live in Bratenahl and on Jan.4th the CVDC will be taking over the dispatching for BPD. Not sure if there changing from the Cleveland system to Marcs-IP system but either way I’d like to figure this out. Any Ideas??

Tony, I live 2 miles from Chagrin and monitor CVDP on my PSR500 using a Yagi and on my PSR800 using a ST2 antenna. I am hearing TG's 14492, 14470, 14494, 13562, 13629 just fine. So I would guess your 536 is having some kind of issue as you stated. Thanks for heads up on Bratenahl change.

Since the last F/W ver my 536 is missing more TG's, my 436 has the same profile as the 536 and the 536 is missing TG's the 436 and others radio's here fine. With each F/W change my 536 seems to get worse, kinda wish I would of left it alone.

That could be my problem also. I’m not missing TG’s but I did update my firmware a month or so ago. Nothing else seems to make any sense. Is there a way to way to revert back to the earlier version like I’ve done with my HP-1?

Tonya,

Per posts in the Uniden Forum, here are the instructions: Download the firmware. Next connect your scanner in mass storage mode, copy the firmware file into the firmware directory, and restart your scanner.

Here's the link to the previous Uniden 536 Firmware files.

Index of /files/firmwares/536

FYI: Uniden stance is they don't provide support for rolling back the firmware. I haven't seen any posts saying this method doesn't work. If the above is the same method that you've used to roll back your HP-1, then it should be worth a try. Oh yeah, I'd make a backup of the current SD card, just to be safe.

Thanks Bud and Firefox. I’m starting to think this is more of a reception issue then a firmware update issue. Firefox do you know if Bratenahl PD will have there own TG?

Well for selfish reasons I was hoping they would stay with the Cleveland system. Here in Bratenahl I do great with that system and only fair with the MARCS-IP. I wonder if there going to have the same issues that Euclid PD had. There are 2 high rise buildings in Bratenahl. Is it possible they might some type of repeater installed in one of those buildings? Before switching to the GCRCN when they were on 423.325 the radio equipment was on the top floor of that building. Might have to talk the wife into a outdoor roof antenna :) Happy New Year Everyone!

Yeah not sure, something tells me though that Bratenhal Place has enough money to install an signal extender to help with reception in the towers lol.

After a week of trying different antenna's and ant. locations I'm now able to hear CVD pretty good. I'm actually picking up many more depts on the MARCS-IP then ever before. Can someone confirm if the info below is still current. I know that there might be some changes this week with Bratenahl coming on line.
