keep an ear out for the new sites.

Yep, these are the new THP Phase-2 TDMA sites to fill in areas where the TVRCS existing sites don't cover. Noticed from licenses these are two frequency trunking sites that with TDMA 2 slot technology will allow two conversations per channel. Unfortunately there are no scanners on market today that will allow you to hear this.
Also licenses lately have been showing some of existing TVRCS sites have been adding frequencies to handle more capacity.
THP is also supposed to be using VHF hi band sites with P25 Phase 2 technology as their APX radios will be dual band and will scan for best signal.
According to a THP press release last year the Chattanooga, Knoxville and Fall Branch districts will be on lone in October. Wonder if they make that time table?

If everybody approves sharing the system it would give roaming compatibility to users on the TVRCS in Dade, Walker, Catoosa and Whitfield counties. If approved by system managers that would mean Rome/Floyd units could use the other system when in the area of if there was a major event. And vice versa, users on the TVRCS would be able to stay in touch when in the Rome/Floyd area. But here's a question RomeRon...is the Rome system going to expand and become regional to eventually include other NW Georgia counties?

The Rome / Floyd county system will never at least for the foreseeable future expand out of Floyd county. None of the adjacent counties has the funds to deploy such a system. They spent a lot of time talking about tying into the Chattanooga system so sell it in the SPLOST. How often is a floyd county unit going to be involved in something in Walker county? How much did that cost?
