Looking for comments on the IC PCR-2500 that has the P25 card (UT-122) installed and how well it does on tracking the trunked systems, mainly the digital trunked systems.

Also can the frequencies be programmed in with "alpha tags"?

Thanks for any comments!

Rex,

I have owned the IC-R2500 for about a year now and it's seem to be a rock solid scanner. I do have the UT-122 module installed and as far a digital systems go it works great. Very clear and crisp, which is what digitals systems are known for.

As for alpha tags, yes you can program bank names as well as individual names for each memory location. As for as trunked systems go, I've heard it does well with TrunkPCR, but I've yet to use it on this scanner. All trunked systems in my area are still analog. I use my PCR1000 with TrunkPCR for tracking the trunked systems in my area. Maybe others in here might have experience using this scanner/receiver on trunked systems.

Again, it's been a great scanner and one I use almost daily.
