With each volume change it will beep, so you have a bad working selector switch, as many others have experienced. It's probably that infamous connector between the circuit boards that are badly soldered. It can also by the rotator switch itself that can be fixed by some contact spray, but has to be done from the inside as the outside have a water tight seal. Or let Uniden fix the problem for $90 +shipping.
