Conventional Freq. Question

I live in the Det. area and have decided that it is time to retire my trusty 780xlt and go digital. I'm torn between the Radio Shack Pro 96and Uniden 396T, they both appear to be very similar, so it will be the ease of programmability that decides it.
I've figured out how to use the RR database to download trunking frequencies and it couldn't be easier. I haven't figured out how to do the same with conventional freq. Is it all copy and paste or is there software that will go to a web site and download freq. plus alpha tags. The trunking Freq. are easy, just place a checkmark and done. It would be nice to have this for regular frequencies as well.
Sorry to ramble I just don't want to spend a week with Police Scanner and the little dial on the radio like I did with the 780.

You can use Excel's Web Data function to bring conventional frequencies into a spreadsheet for manipulation/export:

1. Open a sheet.
2. Click DATA --> Import External Data --> New Web Query
3. Put the address of the web page with the conventional frequencies in the address bar (for example, http://cbs.sportsline.com/nfl/story/NFL_SC-PRED).
4. Click the yellow arrows next to the sections you want to import to change them to check marks.
5. Click IMPORT.
6. Tell Excel what cell to import the data to.
7. Voila!

You can now cut/past the data into the scanner software.

O.K. now what?

After you do that, and get your frequencies that you want in Excel how do you get them easily into Win97?

Arrange them the way you like, then copy/paste, or save them in the CSV format Win97 imports. (Export a setup from Win97 to see how it likes its comma-delimited files formatted.)
