Oklahoma Homeland Security Director to Welcome Cotton County to Statewide Public Safety Radio System
WALTERS, Okla., Oklahoma Homeland Security Director, Kerry Pettingill will be joined by State Senator Don Barrington to address first responders in Cotton County Thursday acknowledging the recent expansion of the statewide public safety communications system into the area.
The Oklahoma Office of Homeland Security has dedicated over $40 million in federal funding to the expansion, enabling first responders along the “I-44 corridor” to communicate seamlessly from Texas to Missouri. Both Director Pettingill and Senator Barrington will speak at a press conference beginning at 1:45 in Walters followed by a demonstration of the new radio communications capabilities.
