Got nothing on CPS channels anymore - anyone know what's going on?

I just tuned in tonight, and was wondering why it was so quiet.
Heard one transmission, someone asking if things were back up.
I'm parked on a wildcard object now, on Fish Creek, hearing Fire and EMS, and very little CPS.
They're definitely having some issues.

I RDPed to my computer at the office, and unitrunker shows lots of activity on Banker's
I can't hear Bankers from home with my inadequate antenna.

Heard dispatch early this am asking various CPS units if they had their Mike phones. Upgrade or update in progress?

I'm really brand new to all of this, I've only listened in a few times and I've been using iPad apps just now, before buying any equipment.
I've not been able to here CPS for a few days now. Is their system still offline?

I "hear" them just fine the past few days. All departments. Honestly can't say all zones but as far as CPS goes, am hearing A2, A5, A6 dispatches. Can't comment on iPad apps as don't use Apple products.

I can find Calgary Fire Departments but not CPS. Oddly enough, any online live CPS feed I can find isn't broadcasting CPS either. Every feed I find online says its 'Offline for maintenance'.

They were working on October 20, and 21st, I was dealing with an incident and I had no problems listening...
The real joke is in a few months there will be no more iDEN in Alberta so.... Calgary Transit (transit and Security) EMS (rural areas) and CPS backup will be useless...

Everything seemed to be back to normal on the 19th.
Wasn't paying much attention to Calgary Digital radio on the evening of 2015 Oct. 27. But at 0030 on Oct 28 hearing nothing from CPS. Am hearing EMS and Fire. Heard HAWK on RCMP frequency. Did hear echo effect on CPS on afternoon of Oct. 27. Wonder if something went wrong with upgrade/update to CPS digital system?
Hmm, definitely quiet this morning. Heard a bit on C9 briefly, then nothing.

Before I fell asleep early this morning, I did hear some activity on C1. Am hearing some acivity of C7 right now, also B1. Scanner does stop momentarily on encrypted channels but not sure if this means activity. Still hearing EMS, Fire, By Law, Enmax and Solicitor General

Sounds like PTT phones in use all day
I guess repairs / upgrades to CDR went longer than planned, emergency plan was put in place around 1030h and all users had to go to iDEN
They've been having radio issues for the past couple days. Last night the techs were doing radio checks, and the system still was broken. The tried only having District 2 CPS on A2 only for a while to test it with a low load, and that seems to have failed.
The problem as after releasing PTT on digital channels, there is a bunch of blip noises where it sometimes repeats the last couple seconds of the transmission over an over.
CFD and EMS appear to work fine, so it must be something to do with Digital vs Analog.
The Mike Phones sounds like their backup plan in case of radio issues, and as such, all operations are now on the backup system until they fix this issue.
I don't know if District 6 still regularly uses Mike phones now that there is a tower down at South Health campus. They would have been used to it.

Another Saskatoon going down. A few years ago Saskatoon PD was upgrading their digital TG's went sideways. Until they fixed the problems they went analogue, this lasted a few months
Better hurry up as last I heard Mike goes bye-bye January 2016. Otherwise there could be a line of CPD at Telus store to turn the Mike radio for Push-to-Talk radio upgrade to Mike

Still quiet here all day - couple pops and that was it

I think with Calgary it's a bit more of a challenge as they've been P25 since day 1 and they don't have analogue to fall back on. Saskatoon was on analogue and converted to digital.
