Does anybody know the secret to listening to Detroit police and fire? I have all the frequencies loaded
and the TG's I want to hear and get nothing.I live about a mile outside the city and have heard that is too far
away. is that true?

what scanner do you have? Detroit is on a P25 system I believe so make sure you can listen to that.

I am using both a pro96 and pro2096. Nothing on either Everything else works well.

Detroit radio traffic is only on their own towers, not the regular MPSCS towers.

Plus the PRO-96 & PRO-2096 don't do simulcast systems well. Detroit is on a simulcast system.

Thanks guys. I've notices pro96 and 2096 don't handle simulcast very well. Looks like I m up for an upgrade in the scanner dept. Any suggestions?

GRE PSR 800, or the Whistler equivalent, or a Uniden 436. (Handheld options)

There is only one desktop option, right now, the Uniden 536. Whistler is, supposedly, going to release what was going to be the PSR 900.
