How long does it take for Uniden Sentinel to update their data base?

I have database version: 02/07/2024 but my location adopted P25 state wide April 2, 2024and Sentinel is missing the band plan and the 800MHz frequencies.

Sorry if this question is in the wrong location, I am new to this all and I am trying to have my programming ready when I receive my home-patrol 2 (we are not P25 simulcast) Maybe my ignorance about P25 is an issue because I see it have the VHF site frequencies but not the other UHF frequencies, do I need the UHF frequencies?
A few of my buddies work for the PD and I like to hear all their traffic,

I assume I can manually can then add them in later after a discover scan but I thought it would be possible to get the jump on it.

Uniden pulls their data from Radio Reference.
Radio Reference relies on you and me to verify and submit....

Raw data from FCC records is not used for the RR database.
Users need to directly verify that a frequency or talkgroup is actually in use, and specifically by who before submission.

RR Database Submission Guidelines - The RadioReference Wiki

Pro tip: many of us use RTL-SDRs (or similar) and programs such as SDRTrunk, DSD+/Fastlane, etc. to capture data on new systems to monitor / document / submit.

Usually it is updated weekly, but it won't be updated with the information until it is verified and submitted to the RR database by someone in the area.

It updates weekly (in theory). Sometimes the update doesn't go through and sometimes their servers seem to break. The latest update is 04/07/24. I see a police talkgroup was added to the Nebraska statewide system on the 2nd - so in theory, if that is the one for your area, it's probably there. As others said, these updates rely on user submissions.

As far as I know, you don't need the band plan for P25 systems - once your scanner grabs the control channel, it auto populates this into the scanner.

The frequencies for the trunked system you need are whatever site is within your region and reachable by your scanner/antenna setup.

So when I receive my scanner I run a P25 discover band and verify / add to the RR and over time Uniden will pull it in?

Thank you!

Some of the more active admins on RR may vet some entries from the users against FCC records. But I’m not aware of specific instances of this happening…

I'm guessing here, but are you thinking when Uniden gets the new info it automatically gets put in your radio?
If so, it doesnt, as you need to run Sentinel software, connect your windows pc to your radio to update it.

No, that would be ignorant haha. I am very familiar that most devices need to be plugged in to a pc and have the software/firmware updated. I am not used to how to communicate in online forms (never used them much) so for a second time I have come off less clear and concise than I had hoped.
Please list your city and county. You might be missing something.
Red Willow County, Nebraska. City is McCook.
City is now on Statewide Phase 2 P25 and County is on DMR.
You're way behind. In Sentinel you need to choose Update > Update Master Database to download the latest full database definitions (4/7/2024 as of date of this posting)
I will double check tonight, but I think my original post is a typo because I am positive the first thing, I did was update the master database so I could build a fav list using the most recent data. I will confirm after work if it was a typo or that in fact did not update the master database.

I recently worked with a member and it was found that the rebanded flag was not set for the system in the database. We need to know which system you are trying to monitor to determine if it is using rebanded frequencies. If there is no band plan for an 800 MHz Motorola rebanded system, you need to enter the following custom band plan in Sentinel for rebanded sites:

SENTINEL
Band PlanBase Freq (lower)Base Freq (upper)SpacingOffset
1851.025854.000025.000440
2851.0125868.987525.0000

Motorola VHF and UHF systems require different band plans depending upon the frequencies.

I don't see that the County system has changed
The County changed to digital, I picked up a cheap UV5R to confirm this (I get digital feedback on the listed frequencies) and it is also confirmed in our local paper when the current sheriff explains since the change to digital, they have bad reception (unsure how)

At the bottom they discuss the radios being less reliable after the switch to digital just after announcing some older equipment as surplus.

I will ensure the database in the software is updated when I get home after work.

The County changed to digital,
The only digital I see is the Nebraska State Radio System which is P25 Phase 2 capable. Here are the site frequencies for Red Willow County:
B8F1 (1)050 (32)McCookRed Willow154.085154.340154.680155.010c
The only talkgroups for Red Willow County are County Fire Dispatch (54803) and McCook PD Dispatch (54804):
54803d613DRed Willow FDCounty FireFire Dispatch
54804d614DMcCook PDMcCook PoliceLaw Dispatch
The database shows all of the talkgroups are currently P25 Phase 1 ("D" in Mode Column). In Sentinel, the System Type should be P25 Trunk. A P25 system will load the band plan automatically from the control channel. The database doesn't show Red Willow County being on DMR. If anyone local can verify it has changed, it should be submitted to the database.

The Sheriff Literally said they changed in the news article I linked.

I'm probably the only local who will be able to verify once I receive my home patrol 2. I haven't seen any other locals except one who reported the changed originally when his Mortola APX 7500 stopped receiving Sheriff's office traffic.

I live in McCook, and I used to be a deputy for the Red Willow County Sheriff's office. I the best shot at keeping the database updated unless an active user with the tech (SDR or SDS scanner) can confirm before I receive my scanner.

Once I receive my scanner, I will report any changes/updates following the link @nessnet replied earlier

It was a typo I do have, the latest version and McCooks addition to NWIN / SRS is not added to the database. I will check again on Monday.

Since you're a premium subscriber, you could install the ProScan trial and pull from the current online database.

I overall recommend it for programming, well worth the money and excellent support Bob gives users - while it can't update the HP database and the scanner profile, I find it much, much easier for programming lists and tend to avoid Sentinel at all costs.
