I was afraid of this since I couldn't find a way to add my UID's.

Okay, another question, if I have my local area setup as my favorite list and scan it as well as the full database, is there a way to not scan this area when scanning the full database. Essentially so that I'm not scanning the same frequencies twice since they would be located in both lists.

Or is my only option is to scan my favorite list when local, then when I travel out of my local area I have to stop, and turn on to scan the full database?
The way I did it was set it for location scanning and service type(s) you are interested in. Set your location via zip code or GPS. and start scanning full database. Run it for a while and avoid (temporary) stuff that you don't care about.. Once you are getting what you want, create a favorite list via "Add Current DB Channels" and save it. I renamed the saved favorite "Home Normal".

I then set the scanner to startup just scanning that home normal favorite.

When I take the sds200 on a trip, I simply set it to scan the full database, use the GPS for location and set my service types.

For me, that makes it easy

your mileage may vary

I travel all over and don't want to have to repeat what is already in the full database when traveling to cover where I'm going.

Yes. that can be done. What ever is in your favorites list that you don't want scanned twice, it needs to be set to avoid in the full database.

I have all my local stuff (Long Island) as well as stuff in NYC in favorites lists. Everything that's in my lists is set to avoid in the full database. When traveling and using gps it works perfectly. As others mention, the more you scan the less you hear. I run a range of 0.5 and only use law and fire dispatch service tags.
