does proscan work for the home patrol 2? (im sure I can google it)

Ah, so sorry, I forgot what scanner this was for... I don't see it on the supported list and I'm entirely unfamiliar with the Home Patrol line.

ProScan does not support the HomePatrol scanners. You can export a HPE file from BCDx36HP Sentinel and then Import the HPE file into HomePatrol Sentinel. HPE files are basically the same for both Sentinels. When you import the file into HomePatrol Sentinel, it will strip the quick keys which the HomePatrol scanners do not support.
