Has anyone in the northeast heard any state parks on the new p25 system…I am hearing ricketts glen on the older vhf system …just curious

I have not bothered because I would only want to listen to the park rangers and they are encrypted. Other Park operations seem to be in the clear like maintenance and such but all I ever cared about was the Rangers.

The three parks that I'm interested in are Neshaminy Creek, Tyler and Nockamixon. Again I have not even tried. When they were on Open Sky they kept the old VHF Simplex frequencies active just like the state police did because Open Sky was so bad but I don't see VHF High antennas anymore.

Yep same here until recently.

Promised Land SP is active on the system, as are the District 19 Whiskey units, who can normally be found on the Forest District 19 TG or on the county PEMA hailing talkgroups talking with the 911 centers.

The Ranger Tac and Fire Ops talkgroups are encrypted, but that certainly doesn't mean that the Rangers themselves are always encrypted.

I do not hear any DCNR activity. I’m located near Bloomsburg and hear Ricketts Glen on old vhf but never hear anything on new system….I hear Game Commision ect but no DCNR

I hear Pymatuning State Park. Not very eventful stuff. It's mostly the rangers checking on one thing or another or dealing with unruly/partying campers.

Beltzville State Park will simulcast to 151.385 PL210.7 still and they are using the 800mhz radios from what it looks like.

The rangers them self call into Carbon County on 154.800 last time spoke with the ranger the new system was not that great and they use the UHF as back up often.

The Pymatuning SP rangers are dispatched by Crawford Co 911 for calls that come into 911. They use the same IDs (61,62,63, etc) as they do on 151.445. I heard them getting calls from the 911 Center several times this summer. They have the Crawford 911 system in their new Starnet Radios.

These weren't dispatched calls. It was rangers chatting back and forth between each other and also acting on camper complaints and disposing of animals. Nothing was from the 911 center.

Can you receive them if you are in Montandon?

Yes when they use Union P1. Gulf6 is the unit
And they use that channel when in the park too

<sigh> There were no dispatched calls at all. Period. This was the rangers talking back and forth to each other on StarNet, 12678.

Yes when they use Union P1. Gulf6 is the unit
And they use that channel when in the park too

It's not Gulf 6 any more it's RB Winter 6 Now

Union county fire units can communicate with DCNR/Forestry on fire channels assigned to Union county

Recently loaded up the FD11 TGs on the STARNet system and the analog VHF repeaters into my scanner. Some talk about a toilet being clogged at Rickets Glen state park but aside from that fairly quiet. Does anyone that monitors the FD11 channels know if the Wildfire ops are still mainly on conv VHF or P25?
