Just moved to Radnor and started listening to Sector 7. Does anyone know why S7 has a much lower reception quality than M7? Do they have the same power?

Probably not. S7 only covers (and was only designed to cover) Radnor and Haverford. The receivers on the towers are probably adequate for something like that. M7 is Radnor's own and was set up a long time ago.

Yeah, I wish that S7 would come in as clear as M7. Sometimes it is hard to hear what is being said even within Radnor Township. I did notice however, the S7 signal is much clearer in Newtown Twp.than Radnor even though Newtown is in Sector 2.

Sector 7 frequency used to be a county wide tac repeater (as were Sector 6 and Mutual 6). I get it pretty good here in Lansdowne but the audio quality is not as clear as Sectors 1-5. Sector 6 and Mutual 6 until recently had the same audio quality issues as Sector 7 but I've noticed recently the quality has improved.

It appears recently that the signal has improved and comes in much clearer on Sector 7 now. I wonder what happened ?

The tower on Iven Ave received an upgrade last week. A quantar was placed as a transmitter for Sector 7. A receiver for Fire 4 and Med B was also placed there but isnt wired into the smart switch yet. The Newtown site is being moved from the township tower to the WPLY tower. The entire Newtown presence, alpha paging, sector 2 receivers/transmitters etc are being moved to this new site.

Thanks. Yeah, receiving quality was poor for Sector 7 in Radnor before the upgrade. MED B was poor also. I just listen to Fire 4 on the rebroadcast on 33.90 where it is clearest. 508.3375 also works pretty well.

A study is being done for Med-B to evaluate its current coverage and performance. After recommendations are made additional sites will be added to the simulcast or an application will be submitted to the FCC for a power increase. The time line for an upgrade won't be until sometime in 2012.

I'm loving the clear signal on Sector 7 in Radnor Township. Good Job Delco! Now if only the Police Lookup channel and MED B could have their signal boosted as well.

I thought S7 was originally for Haverford Township, that Radnor was a recent addtion to the channel.

Anyway, I can hear S7 here (Lansdowne/East Lansdowne area), what I rarely hear is S1.

Just a question,

Do the Delco police dispatchers dispatch different sectors? I'm pretty sure I have heard some of the Sector 7 dispatchers dispatching different sectors.

S7 still very choppy here in southern jersey when S2, S4, S5, and S6 come in clear along with MED B. S1 is a little further south and west and doesn't seem to come in til you're up the hill on route 322/1/202.

They rotate through each sector.

If you're getting S4 and S6, you should also be getting Med A, Fire 1, and Fire 10. They are all in the same area.
