I have had close call on all day and nothing new except a 900mhz freq. I get the fd loud and clear so Im guessing I would still pick up the pd. Im ony 2 miles away. Might have to go camp out near the pd with close call on the 396t this weekend and see what I can pick up.

Seems they are having issues with the new system already. Just heard an officer come over the vhf radio saying he was having problems getting out on the portable so he had to use the car radio. Still dont know where they went as of yet.

I'm sitting in Des Plaines right now with my 197 hooked into my good mobile antenna scanning wildcards on the county north system, northfield and maywood intellipeaters, and a signal stalker search. So far, nothing.

Hi All,
I have good news and bad news the good news is I have confirmed 100% through a good friend of mine that they have moved to the Cook County TRS , the bad news is they are now 100% secure so they have gone down the same path as the sheriff and are now ENC 100% of the time. You can keep listening but you wont hear anything the system it is 100% secure 100% of the time. Both Park Ridge and Des Plaines Police Dept's are completely unable to be monitored due to the encryption.

Sorry for the bad news,
Bob

Can't say I'm too surprised. Although has Park Ridge switched? I heard their repeater active as recent as last weekend. Also, any word on if Niles and Morton Grove will make the jump, since they're the rest of NSEDC, it would make (unfortunate) sense for them to all be on the same system.

I'm reminded of a moment about a year or two ago where Des Plaines wanted to join Northwest Central. NWCD didn't want to absorb that much area. Gotta imagine this wouldn't be happening had they taken them over. Now we just gotta hope NWCD doesn't follow the county's model of "encrypt everything whether it's needed or not" when they upgrade their system this fall.

Its not all bad news, Just heard Park ridge 385 on the on the cook county interop 1 frequency on 154.995 107.2PL. Havent heard a peep on the old "backwards ispern" 155.745 210.7PL.

WestCom currently Dispatching Park Ridge on Elmwood Park's county talkgroup. Park Ridge 3XX series units are still utilizing the old NSEDC 470.4875 146.2PL as a sideband.

Judging by RID information in Unitrunker, I can say with ~95% confidence that the new combined Elmwood Park/Park Ridge dispatch talkgroup is 25144. Obviously, 100% encrypted.
