Each firehouse has an engine (excepting 4s and 2s with only aerials or towers.
The stations are numbered 1-31 with a gap for station 18. It is going to Lowry in the next five years.
Specialty rigs are Collapse manned by Truck 1 and at station 1
Dive rig which is a surplus command rig bought from the state patrol and at station 1 manned by Engine 1. (Denver's only blue fire truck since it stayed the same color state patrol ordered it in)
Station 8 has the Air/Light rig manned by a light duty firefighter when available. It has a cascade on it. It also has a stock of oxygen bottles as well. Training, station 5 and the Rescue also have cascades for filling air bottles.
Already mentioned is Rescue 1 running out of station 11 and HAMER out of station 6. Hamer 4 the dump truck is also there loaded with sand. Hamer was the creation of Butch Buller who is now retired. It was the first hazmat unit in the state and predates NIMS by 20 years. Traditions die slowly so it may never be renamed.
Decon is out of Station 9 manned by both rigs when needed. Squirt 10 when it is in service also responds as the big shower unit. 10s also has the NBC (old pre-NIMS name, it is something else now) rig.
Other stations have specialties, 27s makes all the helmets, 26s has a stockpile of AFFF. Stockpile of backboards are out at the repairshop,
