Not hearing anything from the U Of S in the last few days, did they go digital? Only hearing beeps on the frequencies.

In the tradition of find, discover, and figure it out, you are probably only one of less then say 5 listeners in all that region and possibly the only active hobbyist listening at any given time.
You will have to figure it out and let us know. Seeing as you now hear a beep, you are onto something. The license still shows analog, so anything is possible.

It sounds like a PTT button is locked in the Talk position. Dead air and beeping like a warning.

What frequencies would that be? I don't see them listed on a database. I thought 800 Mhz was for trunking?

thank you!

Appears to be an old analog Smartnet system, operating in the 800 MHz range. So, not conventional but, analog voice.

800 MHz is not strictly for trunking, but is pretty well only allocated to public safety, much of which these days is trunked.

Thank you for this information. Not sure how you found it as I looked under Saskatchewan > Saskatoon and it wasn't there.

The system you linked to is the one I was monitoring and has now gone silent.

Thanks again!

To find it in the database, look on the Province of Saskatchewan database page. In the top right corner is a blue "hamburger" menu link. Click on that.
It will drop down options. Click on Trunked Systems. A new menu will appear with all the trunked systems in the province.

University of Saskatchewan appears on the bottom of the listing.
