Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

DM2600 problem

Hi,

I have a DM2600 UHF and I'm unable to switch the power (High/Low) on a channel using one of the front programmable(P1...P4) buttons. I'm using CPS2.
I found a work-around by just configuring two channels for the same repeater. One with a fixed High power and one with a fixed Low power however this doubles the number of configured channels. Now, when I switch channels the power switches as is indicated on the display and on my power meter.

I tried to configure all programmable buttons (short and long press) with the same High/Low function but this did not solve the problem.
I emptied my codeplug and just configured one channel but still no luck.
I upgraded the firmware to vR02.21.01.000 but this did not help.

I now would like to try someone else his/her DM2600 codeplug. Is there someone that is willing to share a DM2600 UHF codeplug?

Thanks

Hi,

I just found what was causing this issue. The FPP (front programming password) feature was disabled and is blocking certain actions on the front panel like explained in this post: Xpr2500 scan list
Go to the Configuration - General - General Settings and in Front Programming Password change Mode from Disabled to User.
Now I can switch the radio its output power using a front panel button.

Best regards
Joris
