DMR hopes for the PSR-800

Please, I have both the PRO-18 and he PSR 800. I would be most appreciative if someone would e-mail me the 3.8 fw file.

Got the 3.8 file, thanks everybody that helped. Works great on my local connect Plus system. One problem I had heard, if Restricted Access to System (RAS) is enabled on a Capacity Plus system, Whistler DMR will not decode seems to be true.

After extensive testing today, in MY case that while DMR works great with the WS1080 firmware into the GRE PSR-800, however for some reason made a P-25 VHF Motorola Trunked System also in the scanner more difficult to receive (there were NO programming changes in any way). Keeping in mind that it is a “border-line” weaker marginal system for me anyway, but I was only decoding about 1/2 of those signals (as verified on another scanner), where as before it was 100% copy before the DMR. It did NOT affect conventional P25 (non-trunking) signals in any way.

So after a huge “sigh” , I reverted back to the original U2.0 CPU firmware / U1.3 DSP firmware and all is well again.

Thank goodness it’s not difficult to go back. Eric’s excellent program allows for you to switch back the CPU (and the DSP is put back using the PSR-800 EZ-Scan interface after). Oh well it was fun playing with it anyway. Anyone have any idea's here ??

I reverted mine back to see if P25-II would sound better, but didn't notice any improvement. Did'nt expect it to as the original firmware was P25/2 capable.

Did you note your DSP Level ADJ, DAC, ADC settings before you reverted back?

PSR-800-WS1080 Device not recognized

Hope I am posting in the right place.
Updated the prs800 cpu to the 1080
When I went to upgrade the DSP i got error message "device not recognized"

So I tried to revert back with the tool but can't connect.

I then downloaded the driver for the 1080 but not sure what folder to place it in.

Any help appreciated.
