I have been hearing about interference problems all over the country created by DMR TDMA systems. Recently the PSCC has requested that the FCC limit all new VHF licensing to 10 watts. Does anyone know whether the same problems exist with UHF DMR TDMA systems?

To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Your story does not make sense, especially in view of the widespread use of DMR systems today throughout the US as well as in foreign countries. I use DMR in the RF-congested area of Washington on UHF for both simplex and repeater operations, as well as IP connections to DMR amateur stations in several foreign countries. In my experience DMR is a clean operating system with no problems.

I thought DMR/Mototrbo repeaters transmit all the time regardless of actual user activity... someone told me this was so that the mobile/portable radios could synchronize to the TDMA time slots properly.
I am happy to be corrected if I am mistaken.

Only a Connect Plus control channel transmits all the time.
Regular TRBO channels will transmit a beacon every so often (usually just a quick little braaaaap). The interval for this can be anywhere from every 10 seconds to every 10 minutes, depending on how it was programmed. Capacity Plus systems transmit every few seconds to tell subscribers which LCN is the rest channel and where call activity is taking place. And like Mike said, Connect Plus transmits continuously like any other trunked system control channel.
