Just wondering if anyone has used the DPD Productions 700 MHz UHF vertical outdoor base antenna 769-775 mhz? If so, how do you like it?

I'm trying to monitor both a phase 1 system and a phase 2 system on a Pro668. I can't get a lock on either one so I'm thinking I need an antenna specifically for 700mhz. I have an Omni X but it doesn't seem to do the trick. I'm about equal distance from both towers 12 miles or so. The systems are in two different counties.

Thanks!

700 antenna

I know the x claims omni but some other users have found luck turning it toward the tower they are trying to hear. Give that a try first. Also do you have cell towers or radio stations really close by? Maybe try a band pass filter or FM trap to lower the noise floor and improve the scanner ability. Last, as you mentioned these are digital systems you're trying to get make sure your detect settings are correct in the scanner. Your coax may be higher loss at 700 maybe check the specs on that too and get something better for higher freqs lower loss? Some things to check before you go another antenna.

700 Antenna

I'm close enough to a cell tower I can almost throw a rock and hit it!

What type of filter would I need?

I'll give the Omni X a little turn and see what that does.

Thanks for your reply.

I had the omni x and never could get it to
Perform very well.

Replaced it with a scanner beam available
On the scanner master web site.

It made a world of difference .

I go to ParElectronics.com for filter issues. Dale can help, he's the expert on filters. Email him with questions. Don't forget to check the expert settings in the scanner too. Sometimes digital detect is better set around 30. Factory default is 60.
