I've noticed some systems either not labeled with the actual type of Tier 3 that is displayed in DSDPlus (commonly Capacity Max). I've also seen some submitted or changed as Tier 3 Standard because of what's displayed on the scanner itself (which doesn't differentiate between different Tier 3 types).
Likewise, many of the entries in RRDB are not showing or are inconsistent with how they show the Network Model "prefix" either (see my feature request about that). It really comes down to those of us in the DSDPlus community to gather this information and submit it to the RRDB as updates, since regular scanner users do not typically have visibility to that much detail "under the hood" (I have several in my config files right now that I need to do a field trip to validate, and will do so the first chance I get)

Couldn't you use the RRDB to check? Anything CapMAX is nonstandard, everything else is likely to be standard. Although in this image, I believe City Services is CapMAX, but not marked as so:

So DSDPlus is smart enough to know it's wrong, but won't correct it for me. Kinda like the IRS - we know how much you owe us but it's up to you to figure it out yourself and you'll find out if you're wrong! :D

It knows that TIII is not acceptable and should somehow know whether TIIIStd or TIIInonStd is the correct choice? And it should modify files that it never writes to?

I modified my Networks file so that the TIII systems are listed as DSD+ version 2.457 requires. However, I am still using 2.448 for all other systems and it throws errors for those lines. This is as expected, since 2.448 does not recognize the new protocol label.

Not a problem, just a note for anyone else who might have forgotten to update the executable somewhere.

Still allot of reading to do, but I did the tIII editing and still get same errors, I created a fastlane folder to test edits so as not to mess things permanently 😅 bit of a headache

Looks correct to me. Not sure why you'd still be getting that. I copied and pasted what you have into my DSDPlus.frequencies file and got no errors. I'm running 2p457

If you are using desktop shortcuts to start, be sure you are going to the test folder rather than the unmodified folder.

So I made a fresh dsdplusfastlane folder with no edits, copied all the files from the database download, copied the files from 457 download, then copied the contents of the data files in my 448 folder and pasted into the data files of 457.. no errors

I'm trying to make the transition from 448 to 457. I also made a brand new DSD folder with the newest files, and I see the same errors described by PDXh0b0 above:

DSDPlus.frequencies line #196: Invalid or missing TIII network model
DSDPlus.frequencies line #196: Protocol name should be "TIIIStd"

So which files have to be modified from 448 to get 457 to behave correctly?

P25 seems to work okay, but DMR systems no longer show the frequencies in the channel activity window.

I have figured out which files need to be edited, but I'm not sure exactly how. For example:
Siteloader file from version 448:
TIII, 1, 1.1, "Ft. Lauderdale"
TIII, 1, 1.2, "Coconut Creek"
TIII, 1, 1.3, "Pembroke Park"
TIII, 1, 1.4, "Sunrise"
TIII, 1, 1.5, "Miramar"

How should this be modified to work with 457?

.Frequencies file from 448:
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0361, 453.23750, 458.23750, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0371, 453.30000, 458.30000, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0391, 453.42500, 458.42500, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0409, 453.53750, 458.53750, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0413, 453.56250, 458.56250, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 0419, 453.60000, 458.60000, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 1503, 460.37500, 465.37500, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 1519, 460.47500, 465.47500, 0
TIII, 01, 0.2, 1531, 460.55000, 465.55000, 0

How should this be modified to work with 457? The notes file isn't clear to me on this.

Any file with Protocol as the first column has to be modified.
Yes, there are six files that have to be modified. The issue is how to modify them. Examples:

S1-2
S1:2
S1, 2

I have tried all formats, and all kick back error messages about missing or improper formatting.

This is from the notes file:
TIIInonStd L1234:13 "Road Runner Inc" ; Protocol NetworkModel&ID NetworkAlias
TIIInonStd L1234:13 1 "Home Base" ; Protocol NetworkModel&ID Area.Site SiteAlias
TIIInonStd L1234:13 1 57 462.0125 0.0 0 ; Protocol NetworkModel&ID Area.Site Chan# ...
TIIInonStd L1234:13 9 84 464.9500 0.0 0 ; Protocol NetworkModel&ID Area.Site Chan# ...

Notice a colon is used, but it doesn't work for me.

A colon is ONLY used if you have [or feel you may have in the future] more than one "S1" system that belong to different radio companies.

You use a fictitious or semifictious addition -- the recommendation, if it is in the RRDB is this (see example below):

Here is an "S1" system near me (Lauttamus T3 CAPMAX aka TIIInonStd):

Note the 11972 in the URL

TIIInonStd, S11972:1, "Lauttamus T3"

TIIInonStd,S11972:1,1,"Weirton"

etc

Why would one do this? If they have more than one S1 system around then they can add them all to the DSDPlus.* files. If they didn't use this method and had multiple different S1 systems around them, they could only add one of them to DSDPlus.* files

----------------------------

If There is only one S1 around me (Lauttamus T3 CAPMAX aka TIIInonStd) and I'll never pick up another [different] S1 system then I can just do:

TIIInonStd,1,"Lauttamus T3"

TIIInonStd,1,1,"Weirton"

etc

----------------------------

In your example below:

S1-2 # invalid no matter how you look at it because there are no dashes ( - )
S1:2 # only if the system is S2 and you are differentiating it by using a fictitious additional 1: to differentiate it
S1, 2 # only if the system is S1 and the "2" is a site and this is in the DSDPlus.sites or DSDPlus.frequencies file

I've got it working now, sort of.

Now, whenever new TIII talkgroups are added to the DSD.groups file, They are added as "TIIIStd" instead of non standard, and the site shows up as "?1" instead of "S1". How can I fix this?
