I've got it working now, sort of.

Now, whenever new TIII talkgroups are added to the DSD.groups file, They are added as "TIIIStd" instead of non standard, and the site shows up as "?1" instead of "S1". How can I fix this?

I'd have to see ALL of your relevant data for that system form DSDPlus.networks, DSDPlus.sites, and DSDSPlus.frequencies -- as well as a screenshot of your Event window in DSDPlus.

The system in question is a Motorola Tier 3 Capacity Max "Non Standard" "Small" system. All data being added for this system is added as a standard system; "Ambiguous" (?1) according to the DSD+ Events window.

In your Event Window screenshot I don't see anything wrong.

In your DSDPlus.Groups file I see (among other things):

TIIInonStd,S1, 201001, 50, Normal, 5, 2024/01/19 14:37, ""
TIIInonStd,S1, 201003, 50, Normal, 3, 2024/01/19 14:37, ""
TIIInonStd,S1, 201011, 50, Normal, 5, 2024/01/19 14:37, ""

Looksl like what I would expect it to show.

Here is an "S1" system near me (Lauttamus T3 CAPMAX aka TIIInonStd):

TIIInonStd, S11972:1, "Lauttamus T3"

TIIInonStd,S11972:1,1,"Weirton"
Network ID prefixes can be used to disambiguate TIII networks that use the same network ID.
Prefix values should be in the range 1 to 4095. We recommend using the first three or four
digits of the page number of the Radioreference.com database entry for a given network.

You seem to be a bit outside the recommended range.

And I'd think that using the last 3 or 4 digits would make more sense than first 3 or 4.

A couple of other issues:
In version 457, in the DSDPlus.groups and DSDPlus.radio files, my aliases are being deleted from the files, for both P25 and TIII systems. If I manually re enter an alias, it will remain. Yes, I made backups, but until I find out what is causing this, no use in replacing these files.

Also, incorrect network information is being written to the files, such as site ?1 instead of S1. This results in multiple errors in the DSD Event window and event log. Typical example below:

2024/01/19 14:04:58 DSDPlus.radios line #41,398: Ambiguous TIII network model
2024/01/19 14:04:58 Current network: ?1

Oops. But I’d recommend it if he fixed so that it can accept the number even if it’s five or six . To be truthful I happen to be using the disambiguation on that system, but the number I use is 10, knock, 11792

You should set up a stand alone test folder with easier to manage files. Obviously, copy the regular files needed to run the program first.
Then copy only the portions of Networks, Sites, Siteloader, and Frequencies that pertain only to the system in question.
That was you can be sure that the errors are not due to duplicate entries. It also makes it much easier to find any offending data without having to go through 40,000 lines of radios.

That's what I am doing now. I am slowly working out the issues, and if it fails too badly, I can just make another new folder and start again. Luckily I have multiple backups of my data files!

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but where are these new DSD versions coming from? Are they FastLane? I haven't got a new fastlane email in a few years it seems.

Thanks for the help

Updates haven't been sent out by email in quite some time, instead the software checks for updates automatically or you can check for updates manually using the menu selection.

Sounds like you might be on a very old version of Fast Lane. Send an email to dsdplusfastlane@gmail.com from the email you paid for Fast Lane with, asking for the latest files so you can get up to date.

Thanks to both who answered. It's my radioreference email address, that hasn't changed in about 10 years. And I paid for a lifetime subscription way back when. Been using since before 2015. Thanks for your help.

I don't know if this bug has been addressed yet but when I tune to a CAP MAX system and select CC monitor The Event log displays "Current site: [site]" continuously. Check video:

Yes, it is a known issue and the author is aware. The workaround is to run in combined cc/vc monitoring mode. if you don’t want to trunk then it may not do that if you switch the passive digital monitor as well
