Does "no more Fastlane memberships" mean no further development?
Or just no sweet deliveries, you must come and download the software as it progresses?

I'd take it as no longer accepting new users to the fastlane program.

It doesn't mean anything regarding development.

It means:

1. No more new signups for FL -- the number of FL users is plenty for troubleshooting and reporting bugs to squash
2. The new Public Release has all the same features as the current FL

Both FL and Public will continue to be updated for new features / bug fixes / whatever. But FL updates will always lead Public Release updates.

So those who are already FL members will get updates first.

Those who aren't already FL members will use the Public Release and will receive updates, but not necessarily as frequently.

The original public release had no mechanisms for updating via the app. The new Public Release has the same ability to be notified of new updates and download those updates for the user to apply, just like FL.

At least that is my understanding. The author WILL correct me if I'm wrong about any of this :)

Speaking of this, what would be the method of reporting any bugs? Do we just email the devs?

There's one possible bug I keep encountering in FL 2.523 where for some reason, I'll be scanning one P25 system and suddenly have it randomly jump to a different CC of another system hours or even days later. Not sure why it keeps happening but I'm trying to figure out why. I assume maybe It's because I lose sync with a site, but the program should then at least bounce between the CC and SCC until it syncs again, and not hop on over to a different site. It's weird. And yes, "Include neighbor's list in CC hunt" is unchecked in the control tab.

I have never had that happen in all my life. I can only recommend it if you log to the 1R-log.txt file, and if that file isn’t so huge that you can’t open it, you might wanna look in there and find precisely the part of the log that shows when the control channel changed to a neighboring site and then post that log excerpt

Of course, if you’re logging like that, as I do, it ends up becoming gigabytes size and you can’t manage it and you’ve actually just delete it

But the author reads these threads so he/she/it will be aware of what you reporting

any common frequencies between the systems? Any incorrect freq info in the P25DATA file?
I have a nearby P25 system that uses shared business channels one of which is a XPT channel. The XPT will take over the program and create a strange XPT listing. I need to uncheck DMR to make it run properly.
Point is, any outside interference can redirect the program

I don't have dsd+ set up to save any log but that's some good advice! I'll be sure to enable logging and see if it says anything, but yeah, the size that the log file gets to is the main reason why I disabled it to begin with. Sometimes I forget to delete files and then I'll wonder where my disk space goes lol.

If you mean frequencies shared between sites, nope. There's some frequencies that are close together say, 771.58125 and 771.53125 and they do share pretty much the same traffic between sites so I guess that could be an issue, not sure. But my P25DATA file is fine. I never really touched any others, other than to add the sites to the DSDPLUS.siteloader. It's unusual but I'll try catching it when it happens to the log.

Indeed it is an excellent software. Amazing job!
Hopefully it can be improved even more.

There are still quite some fixes and features that are needed. These are what I remember:

- FMPA and FMPP should be aligned with FMP24. FMPA and FMPP cannot Scan, Squelch, AM, PPM, etc., normally. FMP24 can.

- Add the option to enter known Decryption Keys (as available for DSD FME).

- Perhaps FMPA and FMPP can show a larger spectrum.

- Enable the Recording of Analog signals as well (that get a file name from the SiteLoader, same as with Digital Recordings).

- Othere people can chime in, please.
Which DSD FME? There are three authors.

Which DSD FME? There are three authors.

DSD - "the original" - the impetous for others to write software to decode digital mdes

DSDPlus / DSDPlus Fast Lane - windows app

DSD-FME - Florida Man's highly, highly modified version of DSD. Actually, it's probably more FME than DSD at this point
Quick question: Is the older DSD still being worked on?

Older DSD? What do you mean? The "original" that kicked everything off like 15 years ago that is on Github? Probably, randomly. I think FME is based off of that, with FME being heads and shoulders above it. The original DSD has been forked a jillion times and little things done here and there. I don't think it's abandoned, but it's never going to be DSD-FME or DSDPlus as far as features, at least in my opinion.

FME has the occasional updates BUT you have to build the binaries yourself. The upside is that usually its just the .exe that is changed.

Gotit. The first DSD is basically abandonware, so there is no reason to hang onto it here.

Another minor update I would like to see in the next Fastlane/Plus update is for the Channel Activity window to indicate the 'data' channels mode like it does with the CC and SCC. In this case 142.305on a P25P2 system is used exclusively as a data channel. It would be nice if it had a blue? "data" tag in the Target column.

By sitting on this data channel I see Fastlane showing the CC neighbor list as well as other non decoded data. On P25 I suspect it may contain some GPS or status data. On a P25P1 system I suspect it may be used for updating the radio codeplug in some manner?.
