Should I be able to see the decoded data from a Control Channel using DSD FL and SDR#? I am using the DSDPlusUI plugin. I have it all setup and the decode stream is full of errors. I do have the audio filter OFF. I am decoding a P25 P2 control channel and it is not simulcast. I am decoding this same system with DSD FL and a discriminator tapped scanner perfectly. I am not interested in monitoring the voice traffic just decoding the control channel data.
Hopefully this is clearer than mud.

Have you tried using FMP24 to feed DSD+ FL consistent with the coders recommendation? There is a passive data monitor mode in it, i do not know how well that works with UI plugins, SDR# or Virtual Audio Cables...sure does work well with FMP24 (or FMPA, etc)

Yes I have used FMP. I guess I am just curious as to why it does not work so well using the audio stream from SDR#.

Because it's a hacky solution for people who think "they need to see the signalz!" (hint - FMP24 shows you the same thing, just fewer colors)

The devs of DSD+ made the best / most effective way of feeding DSD+ with the data, it allows complete control of the reciever hardware. SDR# is a bloated / heavy / intensive pig that DSD+ cannot control, when compared to FMP24 - thus making it hacky. You also do not need that awful virtual audio nonsense.

If it was meant to be used with it, the devs would not give you the nearly the exact same functionality in FMP(x) - and they would tell you in Notes.txt to use it.

back to your original question, if you drop SDR# from the equation and use FMP24 (or airspy, etc) it's a trivial task to set up a single dongle to monitor a control channel.

If you're getting clean decodes with a tapped scanner, I'd think that you could do the same with SDR#. You'd have to show all of your work - full SDR# screen grab, all DSD+ windows (including source audio window and console log window) in a screen grab, and maybe toss in a CC audio recording made by DSD+.

Hm, it might be something as simple as dropped/lost I/Q samples (which FMP24 detects/mitigates).

Your move, hombre!

Those are my thoughts, now I just need some time to get back at it. Thank you
