For those who are going to ask, this Fastlane update only updates DSDPlus.exe and notes.txt.

Code:
DSD+ 2.505

Decoding of a few more P25 control channel messages has been added.

Added a "HighPPMerr" display to the event log and channel activity window titles.
This text indicates that the PPM correction in FMPA/FMPP/FMP24 is not adjusted correctly.
Adjust PPM value in FMPx with p/P keys to eliminate the error display.

Added decoding of Harris P25 Talker Alias messages during Phase I calls.
Decoded subscriber radio aliases are added to radio entries in the DSDPlus.radios file.

Added support for Motorola scrambled talker aliases. These are radio aliases that
are sent over the air in a scrambled form on some Motorola P25 systems.
DSD+ sends the OTA alias data to the DSD+ alias server and the server returns unscrambled aliases.
The returns may be immediate or may take some time.
Messages in the event log will track alias acquisition and decoding progress.

OTA alias data and cleartext aliases are stored in the DSDPlus.radios file.
    User-entered radio aliases are unaffected.

This feature requires an Internet connection.
During periods of no connectivity, DSD+ will buffer server requests.

DSD+ may partially unscramble aliases without assistance from the alias server. In the various
DSD+ windows, partial unscrambles are denoted by underscores replacing scrambled characters.
In the DSDPlus.radios file, tilde characters (~) are used instead of underscores.

Use the DSD+ Misc menu to control various aspects of this new feature.

HIGHPPMerr only seems to work if auto tune is enabled. I purposely set my ppm off and nothing displayed with it off.

The Motorola Talker Aliases are for Motorola radios on Motorola systems. If you have a mix of Motorola, Kenwood, Harris, etc, you will see only the Motorola units.
The radio file line with the OTA alias data looks like:
012E585204AA9868891E7845BCA98584CF2ED7490000000000000000000000000005DBA9FE""
and is after the user alias.

I guess what I don't understand is with it in that format what I would use it for

Was about to ask this too, how do I decode that into words/numbers?

I received same now too, but a lot less useful on my local system.

Be patient, it is not always something that is done in real time the first time
DSD+ sends the OTA alias data to the DSD+ alias server and the server returns unscrambled aliases. The returns may be immediate or may take some time.

The user does nothing with the OTA hex info. That is what DSDPlus sends to the server and the work making sense of it happens there. The alias transmitted is in the second quotes.
On one local system here, I get badge numbers, on another names and on a third I see some vehicle plates. It is whatever is entered on the system for aliases.
These edited lines show my aliases, the hex data from the program and then the calculated Over The Air alias:
"CSP Troop A Dispatcher" (hex stuff) "A-OP01" Troop A Operator Position 1
"CSP Troop A Dispatcher" (hex stuff) "A-OP02"
Connecticut uses Tax Town Codes for each of our 169 towns, Hartford is 064...
"HFD Engine 1-M" (hex stuff) "064 Engine 1"
"HFD Engine 7-M" (hex stuff) "064 Engine 7"
"HFD Engine 8-M" (hex stuff) "064 Engine 8"

Maybe so far. But I bet there are a lot of RIDs on that system. As you collect them over time, you might find out [hopefully] that there are a lot more descriptive ones.

On the systems in my area, on apparently is not using OTA aliases, the other has a mix of useful and not useful.

Probably needs time to populate and decode through the server, which will be slow to start.

Yea PASTARNET here has very short aliases and not as often useful. WVSIRN is great. Lots of detail. Ohio MARCS -- no OTA aliases.

So it's hit or miss. But definitely time is our friend.

Thanks for the OTA decoding! It is very useful. I didn't realize it just takes a little time for a clear decode to be returned.

Yeah it all depends. Might take up to 24 hours or more sometimes to get back results from fresh OTAs that are sent to the server, at least that's my understanding.

If you are monitoring SIRN (and I'm guessing you might be), you'll really like the aliases.

If you are monitoring a system that does OTA and has encrypted talkgroups, don't forget to enable the encrypted call monitoring. You want DSDplus to be able to tune to an encrypted voice comm in order to gather the scrambled OTA alias.

After all, some of the systems with encrypted talkgroups might really be helped out by knowing the radio aliases using those encrypted talkgroups.

Would that be Wake County?

VIPER not using them, Wake is using them. Seeing a lot right now (it's early though let's see) that are WAKE183____ (which is only the first three of the RID number then underscores for rest of it) or WAKE1831234 (which is the RID number), but some have more details.

While others are very good
