Guys,

I'm getting some dotting in the SrcAlias. It seems as though I am getting parts of the alias most of the time with dots instead of some letters. Is this due to bad decode? My signal for the system is good but not sure of quality. Any idea what is going on?

thanks!

Aliases are sent over the air. If you are seeing '.....' as part of the alias, it's because DSD+ hasn't seen/been able to decode the entire alias yet. As the rest of the alias is determined, the ...'s will disappear.

Having no decode on the IDAS "status messages" that are broadcast every few seconds like analog LTR
systems. Does the program decode there? Have not heard any voice on the system yet.

thanks
Hello,

I tried dsdplus this evening on a couple of local IDAS systems. I could only get channel activity and data when voice frames were being transmitted. It did not pick up data frames, like the idle bursts. So you can only determine the site number and repeater with dsdplus when there is voice traffic.

There is a problem with the event log showing the wrong talkgroup. Talkgroup 1-96 was shown in the event log as 16777312.

If a talkgroup is active on a channel, then it will show up on Channel Activity and Event Log. If a second talkgroup is directed to another channel, then the still active talkgroup on the channel will disappear and only the second talkgroup will appear on Channel Activity. The event log will only show the second talkgroup as active. It also appears the radio id of the first talkgroup is shifted to the second talkgroup.
2014/10/01 23:30:04 Group call; TG=16777311 RID=1-1411 Ch=3
2014/10/01 23:30:06 Group call; TG=16777312 RID=1-1411 Ch=4 13s
2014/10/01 23:30:22 Group call; TG=16777312 RID=1-1786 Ch=4
2014/10/01 23:30:24 Group call; TG=16777311 RID=1-1786 Ch=3 6s
2014/10/01 23:30:33 Group call; TG=16777312 RID=1-1411 Ch=2 2s
2014/10/01 23:30:46 Group call; TG=16777312 RID=1-1412 Ch=3 3s

This can make it difficult to figure out the Repeater Number since the Idle Repeater messages are not decoded.

Hello,

I forgot to mention that jcardani maybe hearing the collect channel on a multi-site system. It is used for units to register with the site, so it is mostly data messages. It is only used for voice if all the other repeaters are busy.

On the local multi-site IDAS system the collect channel uses the lowest repeater number and the home channel does not always match the group prefix. On one site group 1-96 uses repeater 3 as the home channel.

LRRP

Can I just ask if I may, Monitoring a VHF mototrbo system, On the dsd dialog box it's constantly transmitting with colour code info etc.......Now looking at the event log dialog box it's showing ARS info from the base to the RID at the time but nothing is being shown on the mapping system when I boot up the LRRP application. Is It that it's only requesting RID registrations & not the location of the devices as I'm seeing nothing on the map or is it that I need to configure the LRRP app???? (New to this with extreme curiousity) cheers guys for any help

If you don't see LRRP entries in the Event Log then there is nothing for the LRRP app to decode.

What Line-In level setting are people having the best results with? I'm finding it doesn't make much difference.

I’ve installed the new version of DSD+. It works great! Thank you! Just a few quick questions…I only decode PV. The added windows don’t seem to do anything while decoding PV, are they supposed to? Same with the map, I haven’t been able to figure out what to do with it.

Has anyone been successful porting the data stream into the LRRP display? I see there are LRRP packets on the MOTOTRBO system I am monitoring, but the LRRP display is blank..?

Do you see LRRP entries in the event window? If not, then there is nothing to decode. I know of multiple agencies around me that use GPS/AVL, but they do it with 3rd party software thru the GOB (generic option board). This data is proprietary and isn't decoded by DSD+.

I do see the LRRP entry, I am not sure if there is any command I need to enter when I type in LRRP.exe since there is no preference/config for me to change to make sure audio is ported through..

I assume there are other kinds of data besides LRRP being transmitted via DMR? I get some very strong signals and DSD+ is showing the decoding but no audio or LRRP. Nothing on the event log. Others that behave like this are busts of data. I assume this is a car service.
