I did a bit of scanning on SW bands. It’s the longest day of the year, so I’m likely waaay early, but I’m not staying up until after dark tonight.

I had three portables going, Eton Elite Executive, Qodosen DX-286 and XHData D-109WB. Not too much going on this early, but the surprising thing is the D-109WB was the champ tonite, finding more signals and even tuning one or two that the other two couldn’t.

It’s kinda like fishing, you never know if you’re gonna catch anything…

Today I did some scanning of SW bands at about 2200 UTC. I had low expectations, but I did get a strong signal from Madagascar
at 11610 khz, and then a really new one for me, Radio Farda at 12035 kHz. It was strong and clear.

Does anyone know where the second one is transmitted from?

@EAFrizzle the studio may be in Prague, but The Radio Farda transmissions come from sites in the UAE (DHA) or UK (WOF)

Heres the link with more info, @ditto1958

WRMI coming in better than usual for me.
5850, 5950, 7570, 9395 all readable signal, 9455 full scale, 7730 and 7780 present but covered by noise.

WBCQ 9330 coming in clear as well as WINB 9265. S-5 for both with very little noise.

Traces of RNZI on 15720 fading in and out. Propagation over the gray line has been very good here the past few days for 17675. No joy at frequency change to 11725, but 9700 usually does better here for the next freq shift.

RN da Amazonia 11780 S-5 with some moderate fade.

Shaping up to be a nice night for HF, and should have some tropospheric enhancement up to UHF by morning.

Equipment used for this post: Eton Elite Executive and 200' Loop on Ground.
