I would favor someone like CalTrans. The highest RID I have seen is ~118 so that's a decent count so far. Plus they seem active on more than just ALCO East. I do think I heard the tester call 5003 "channel 3".
Definitely not CalTrans. I like the transit idea better now. From testing today I heard "Dial-A-Ride" mentioned also. FWIW, TG 5003 is denied on COCO Central and Crane. All of the testing seems to be from ALCO East.

As far as I know, I heard it on East Simulcast.. I have the PRO-106 alerting on the wildcard I set for the East Simulcast.. I haven't noticed if that would cause it to alert on the wildcards for the other sites as well.
Tester advised who he called dispatch to right click, and select a menu and go to another channel. Once they changed over the radio went quiet until they came back to 5003. I know he mentioned to select Dial A Ride,, Think he called it a call channel or similar. As usual I heard and posted from work while multi tasking.
The tester signed off referring to the other person as dispatch again, and then said that's all he had for the evening. I'll certainly try and keep a closer eye out tomorrow when I go back to the grind.

Since Alameda and Contra Costa County are in EBRCS together, I'd imagine AC Transit would be brought over to the new system as well. I know they have a 'dispatcher' in contact with the coaches. Could also explain why it might be in between both counties on the system,, as AC Transit goes through both.
As a side note,, I would like to give myself props on always seeming to post right when someone else does. Another quality I didn't know I had until recently.

I thought I heard "RTD" at some point earlier in that convo. I think the guy was testing some kind of data transmissions too (as is typical for transit).

The testing is really strange as previously the guy always used the same RID. Today he changed it up when he moved from different vehicles. My guess is they'll have some kind of interface to the radios. He must have been changing them in and out on the same radio.

If it's only East, It's probably the Livermore-Amador Valley Transit Authority? They run the "Wheels" buses in Livermore and Pleasanton.

Seems to be most accurate for 5003. Sounds like they're live this morning talking about a bus problem and wanting to exchange buses with someone else if they could "get off at hopyard." .. also the "dispatcher" asking the driver if she could assign him to a different bus route. 3005 seems to be East simulcast only.

4311 and 4312 are active this morning. Sounds like Livermore grounds keeping. Discussing map and site numbers, center medians, Library, the barn, etc. A lot of talk about plants, turfs etc. Sounds like they're taking a tour and discussing what work has to be completed at each site. Also appears to be East Simulcast only. Radio ID i'm seeing is 3190555

Yesterday afternoon, radio techs started doing checks from inside Santa Rita Jail on one of their own TG's.

TG's by Zone

Has anyone been able to narrow down which talkgroups are being broadcasted on multiple cells? For instance is Richmond FD only being transmitted on COCO west or will it be broadcasted on all COCO cells or on any Alco cells?

Correct TG 4311 and 4312 is Livermore Public Works Landscape Maintenance. They used to be called Parks but changed their name officially to Landscape Maintenance. They maintain all Livermore parks that are 1 acre or less and medians and other small open areas.

We may be hearing more Livermore Public Works groups come online because they have been having problems with the Nextel phones that they have been using for communication for over 15 years.

Sorry. 7726 should be removed from that list. Its already CCCSO West. I had it mislabeled.

and 7805 is that CDCR Parole.

7305 is confirmed Martinez PD, although I see its already been updated in the DB.

For some reason I lost my pre existing file in pro96com and these weren't labeled but should have been. The other ones listed were seen though.
And I confirmed Martinez and added it just didn't update my post

You're having all sorts of problems... :)

I saw the Martinez Dispatch Consoles affiliate. They were only supposed to have 3, but I saw 4196000, 4196001, and 4196003... don't know where xxx2 is.

I'm adding them to the Wiki.

Edit: I just saw xxx2 affiliate. Looks like MPD has 4 consoles.

Well that's what I get for trying to do this stuff at work :)

Consoles don't affiliate. I also did not see any consoles other than 4196001 and 4196002. One of the older EBRCS docs says Martinez has two also.

The field radios are 4206xxx.

I've been keeping track. You aren't going to see a COCO TG on ALCO sites other than a select few. And likewise for ALCO. So Richmond FD is only on COCO West , East and Central. CCSO is allowed on COCO sites only, etc.

The PD's in COCO are pretty restrictive too. Though in ALCO I've seen Fremont PD on ALCO East but not UCPD. Pleasanton PD is allowed on Crane Ridge but Livermore is not. Maybe they put Pleasanton on there to generate traffic.

I would think that we would see many PDs on the ALCO East site because many of them bring prisoners to Santa Rita. I am not sure how far each site reaches, like if a FPD unit was to stay on the SW cell and be at Santa Rita, OR if they have to switch to the East site to reach FPD dispatch. Is that how it works, or no?

Well, maybe they should!

Affiliate.... show-up....whatever. They showed up with a channel grant associated with 7305. I'm not a system radio tech, so I don't have to use the correct nomenclature every time. :)

I have already updated the wiki to reflect 4206xxx.

I'm pretty sure I saw 000 and 003 - I will keep a close eye on it... I might be wrong.

Really by that logic you would seriously mess up channel use efficiency. The reality is if they needed to contact dispatch they would use a cell phone, or in the case of the EBRCS, they could switch to an ALCO Law TG. That's kind of another main reason for having system-wide TG's in every radio.

Because of the hills and valleys in the East Bay you get decent segregation between sites. If someone was on ALCO SW then they would lose it pretty fast after going over the Sunol grade. The radio would then see ALCO East coming from Sunol Ridge and switch to that. Since the control channel announces neighboring sites the radios sample these channels and will switch when the signal is stronger (though site preferences can be set for that in the radio).

Details, details! Whenever are they important? :) But seriously, it's a good thing to know if someone goes over CC decoding logs. I like labeling my radio ID's.

You're absolutely correct, of course.

Speaking of radio IDs and console positions, I've tuned up the console ID table in the wiki and I notice we're missing some ranges for a couple of centers. Knowing the number of positions, it would be mostly easy to guess, but some numbering schemes start with 0 and others begin with 1. If anyone has ranges for the console positions, please fill in the wiki as needed... thanks.
