Emory Univ. PD

Emory Univ. PD is creating a permanent unit and office at its hospital in midtown. Apparently crime in midtown Atlanta is getting bad in that area which warrant their own police.
Emory officers are already also sworn as Dekalb sheriff's deputies and equipment with Dekalb PD talk groups. I imagine the officers in midtown will be sworn as Fulton deputies and equipped with APD talk groups.
If I learn more I will post it.

Even though they are sworn DKSO, they do have police powers throughout the state.

True but they need this to enforce the local county ordinances. Keeps most the minor charges in recorders court and allows them to use the counties ordinance citations just like a county officer or deputy.
