Exploring a found frequency...

Well I didn't find a fcc license for 464.3375 unless its from another county like bearcom or some other one. I don't know what your line of site distance, or how many parishes away u can hear traffic from. Or how good of an antenna u have to get them. But it might be beneficial to search around to see if u can hear other sites for that system

I'm going to be searching 450 to 470 today like you suggested, but I'm wondering how I'll be able to tell if anything I find is part of the same system other than just guessing because it sounds like similar transmissions?

Also, I've found more talkgroups using that one frequency of 464.3375 and Trunk Discovery on the 536HP. I'm up to eight now!

Okay, not long after I posted that I found another frequency which I'm certain is on the same system as 464.3375. It's 463.6750 and it's got all the same information as before, except this time it's also displaying two different numbers after "U" (30826 and 30834). I'm assuming these are Unit IDs and I programmed them in as such.

It would show Nt 176 site 11 then the U is unit radio IDs and the TG is talkgroup, it may only show up on the other frequencies only if there is activity on them

Yeah 463.675 may be a voice channel, u may also find other sites with Nt 176, S ? Which means same network or system different site..

Nt will be network or system. Not all DMr systems show network. It will also on the upper line say CON or CAP some just say DMR or XPT, if u have NDXN upgrade it will mostly show Nt or Sys and Site and NX4 or NX9 on the upper line, these are all digital systems and will be possibly different networks..

If there is question on the name smartcomm, this is listed that might make more sense it also has the 176 system ID in DEC,

I haven't been able to find out any more than what I've already posted in this thread. I did post a new thread in the Louisiana forum here on RR asking for other people to help out, but no replies yet. Take a look:

I know the LSU bus system might not be the most exciting thing to discover, but I'm pretty sure that's what I've found and have been exploring and gathering data on. Lots of mentions of campus streets like South Stadium, Ben Hur, Nicholson, etc. and lots of other hints ("purple and gold stop"...

I saw that, but those cities are wayyyyy far away from me over in the southwest corner of the state near Texas. No way I could pull those in.

How would I go about figuring that out? Maybe I'm just misunderstanding.

Really there should only be 1 176 system but so far we have found at least 3 for just Louisiana alone.. I'm going to look for licenses for the frequencies u found outside of your county to pinpoint this system.. unless its linked to one of the systems we've found ..

Its in east baton rouge, none of the rest of the counties have those frequencies in the fcc licenses, in the surrounding counties

As far as I can tell it's the same site and same system... or at least the same system for sure. They're both LSU bus systems.

How far away can u hear ? Like can u hear stuff more than 1 County away. Past line of site?
