Fdny ems transition updates

As of the other day cw 2 was bx south, then queens east followed by queens west.. i believe they was having problem the mentioned freq.
on brooklyn north they are getting intermod on and off. it looks like they are fine tuning they freq before they move on
fyi if you have a motorola ht 1000 you can get the 6.25 split by holding the key on the computer and the split will hold also fyi riding the belt pkwy to flat coming from queens bx comes in with no break up transmissions singnal holds on a portable

This is getting better everyday know they have Brooklyn Central on cw 2 at 915 am..
usually in most cases you hear dispatching and no units when they transition, in this case it is opposite.
they put a few boros on and then they realize that something is screwed up...
i hope these radios will work good, i work nyc ems i depend on the radios for help.
guess they could only hire what they can afford the city for radio tech lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Repeating mobile audio only might be a clue that the channel isn't live and nothing is hooked up to dispatch . The techs may just be using the output stream from the voter to get the audio levels correct hence why you get only mobile audio.
I imagine all of the simulcast parameters will need to be fine tuned too, together with audio levels to get the system up and running correctly.

Exactly, great explanation. In 1999 when the NYPD transitioned to the current division scheme of 2 precincts from the old scheme of 3 precincts per zone, this is exactly how it was done.

Used to be 4 precincts per division in the Bronx. Always amazed me how Central tracked it all.

yes that was the old channel plan it was changed around the summer/fall of 1999
I heard that this morning as I was heading north out of New Jersey. The new channels sound very good as well. Seems like the transition is moving along nicely.
hey all heard them on tag 40688 p25..
As of 403pm today all units switched back to BX North dispatch and units can be both heard on the new freq.. probably tomorrow they will fine tune it one last time and move on to the next boro freq

FYI this am Manhattan North is operating on CW 2 transitioned is being done this weekend..
seems like they are behind schedule so they are working on the weekend.
after completion today, the only boros left are BK-SO...SI...MANHATTAN SO-CENTRAL-- AND CW # 2
From what i gather the new channels are great. when i am on the the Belt/CIP/to the LIE my handheld is on my belt and sounds great no break ups on the transmissions. this will be a very good system to monitor..
tonight the new manhattan north channel will be in service just in time for Washington heights Madness--lol

Just a quick update on MAN North ems...worked on it saturday and monday...yesterday and today no work being dones they have to finish linking the dispatch console to the new freq.....
as of this am no testing being done.. but anytime today they can commence

As of 1430hrs Manhattan Central is linked you can hear both dispatch and units
this one almost got past me today, thanks to n2nov for the heads up, this is the second time he caught the freq change , i apprecate your input n2nov
next should be M south, then onto BK & SI
freq sound great, signals are 100% better then the old ones
have a good weekend to all
